I think it would be extremely unfair to relegate any club in the current circumstances. This situation is beyond anyone’s control, and not of their own making. At this moment in time, no one within our game can say for certain, that the other 11 SL clubs will complete their fixtures for this season. All it would take to ruin this season completely, is for a few players from one club to test positive for Covid 19, to shut that club down. Do we relegate that club. Just imagine Leeds, Warrington, Saints. for example being closedown, due to the virus.

Can’t understand this SBW present day fascination, great when at his peak but definitely not worth the money now. Myself personally would like that sort of money used on 2 or 3 younger players preferably British that’s wishing that we had the money spare

Let's be honest, no-one is coming up to replace them this season.
Season already started.
Part time squads.
Players on furlough.
Legal challenge and delay from the half a dozen clubs you don't pick.
Certain to finish bottom, but won't want to be relegated.
If you put a club up, how do your square their missing fixtures if Championship restarts?
Cash - who has cash to operate at SL level in 2 weeks time?
Duty of Care - Championship players not up to week-in, week-out demands of SL.
Etc.

You commented that you have no issue with visas being extended, to allow the overseas players to get a club, yes?
I then suggested that the wage reduction>new signings conundrum remained...
Does the conversation make sense?

| Fev fancy a crack at their spot in Super League.
They could in theory play the fixtures and then start again next season in lower league. If they got the share of the tv money it would be a good deal for them.

Featherstone club statement:
Featherstone Rovers have made contact with Super League and RFL officials today and expressed their interest in joining the Super League following Toronto Wolfpack's withdrawal from the country's elite competition.
Rovers, who were beaten in the 2019 Championship Grand Final by Toronto Wolfpack believe Super League and RFL should consider granting the club a chance to compete in the 2020 competition. Rovers remain undefeated in this season's Betfred Championship and are due to play Wakefield Trinity in Round Six of the Coral Challenge Cup.
Rovers CEO Davide Longo said: “We were surprised that Toronto Wolfpack have had to make such a tough decision, every club within the sport has had to make challenging decisions this year and we share their disappointment in this difficult period.
“However, it leaves the rest of the Super League clubs with an uneven competition, disrupting the integrity of the division in 2020.
“Rovers have a squad littered with experienced players and ambitions to strengthen the squad if an opportunity presents itself. Featherstone were unbeaten going into lockdown and we feel a shot this season is worthy of our club's efforts over recent years.”

I would say they deserve to be given the chance just on being runners up from last season it makes sense and also be allowed to stay there for next season competition too with Toronto going back into the championship as reward for pulling out

| Sky will need another team to play in Toronto's spot to pay the clubs they are promised its all the amount of games that can be shown .
I am saying Toronto are calling the RFLs bluff to get them what they need - they won't pull out .

They have to have another club in there is not Toronto (which I think it will be) otherwise the sky money is gone

I agree with this.
The bottom line here is that although the covid situation is absolutely beyond their control, it's worth remembering that pre lockdown, they were already struggling to put a team out on the pitch.
The visa situation is a strange one too. Have those players really all been here for six months or is there a cop out to give them a "valid" reason to withdraw.
No other club would be allowed to do this and if the reports of them being ok to continue (mentioned in the BBC piece) as late as last Thursday, then, something isn't quite right.
As far as Fev taking their spot, they do seem to be the right option but, there will be complaints from other clubs if they were allowed to take TWP's spot this season and effectively have a free pass to play in SL next year ?

| I doubt very much it will come as a great surprise to the vast majority of RL fans. Its a shame but you have to question the decision in the first place. With all the best intentions in the world by the owners and R FL it was in my opinion a bridge too far , Logisticaly a night mare . TORONTO received some great headlines and promotion for the sport but they will be well forgoton and sink in to insignificance over the next couple of months.
Surly before any such expansions take place in the future it must involve an area that can
1 sustain at leadt 50% of home grown talent.
2 offer an affordable transport link.
3 prove itself in the lower leagues before entering what should be the sports show piece.
I would go futher and base promotion and relegation over a three season period .

I agree with the decision to allow Toronto into the "Eurpoean" RL pyramid being flawed. Something that Nigel Wood should shoulder most of the blame for.
Getting RL properly established in N . America WOULD have been a major coup but, the logistics, especially for a small sport are and have been quite ridiculous.
There has to be some sympathy for the current Covid situation but, the wheels were already coming off and they were looking nailed on for the wooden spoon.
Perhaps now would be a good time to think about just where the sport is going and what will be best for the long term good of RL (which should have been the case all along)>
Although many dont agree, I think that Catalan, on the whole, add something positive and different to the sport, as would Toulouse if they made it into SL but, there has to be a major re think over the N. American "dream" and if there is going to be RL played over there, "we" need a different plan, I dont think that it can be part of the Championship and / or SL.
Just on the 3 points that you made about homegrown talent, affordable transport and proving themselves in the league structure.
I dont know how ANY new club could achieve those things in the professional arena, especially the 50% homegrown talent.
Would "homegrown" be from the country that they were based in or more directly from within the club itself ?
