got a place over there, came back last thurs, very expensive for food and drink. better stopping in spain and getting coach to the match. 4 euros for a coffee in perps 2 for 5 euros in gerona.wine bit cheaper than beer or coke.

id use catalan sports tours if i were to stay in perpignan,they seem to be reliable and get you to the game and town safely on time.

it was my first visit to perpignan at the weekend although i was based in lloret with my lad,i dont think i could afford to stay in perpignan been on a budget,the first bar we went to cost me 9.50 euros for a lager and a half a coke and the food was no cheaper.

it all depends what you want to go for if its the local culture then perpignan is ok but if its for a boozy weekend then re-mortgage the house before you go.

we stayed in lloret last weeked, transfers with cst to perpignan, everything went smoothly. i agree perpignan is very expensive, we were paying on average £5 a pint, despite the prices we had a fantastic weekend, the result helped of course. i dont think there is anything wrong with lloret, certainly cheaper than perpignan, our hotel was £70 for three nights, all inclusive.

not going this time, however last time i was there i was in an irish bar, 5 euros a pint, had to argue to get the bloke behind the bar to put superleague on.

If only you'd have gone to a proper French café/bar then, instead of a plastic Irish bar. Le Grande Café de la Bourse shows Super League as a matter of course, and I think that Le Grand Café de la Post does too. The latter is slap bang next to Le Castillet. The Bourse is about a two-minute walk up the road.

You can get a Frog Bus from Gerona airport up to Perpignan, or there's the option of the train, as mentioned earlier.

When we go over for the Rhinos game we're staying in Northern Spain (L'Estartit) for 10 days, but getting a hire car and doing an overnighter on the game day. The trip up on the motorway is straight forward, and doesn't cost that much either.

We'd done that and the touristy bit the day before, some lovely cafe bars, we ended up in this one as it was over the street from the hostel we were staying in, we'd only gone out as a last night drink in barcelona, early night and then drive to perpignan saturday morning, somehow we ended up at another irish bar at the bottom la ramblas at 3am watching WWE smackdown and arguing with a hen party from Leicester who were ardent Tigers fans trying to wind us up.

no one had warned us that after midnight you can get (offered) anything on la ramblas, beer, speed, coke,pot and what i can only guess were transexual prostitutes. Or not very nice looking ladies at least.
