No you don't. Leigh along with Bradford are beating everyone in the league (at time of writing this post) because they are both spending more money than everyone else.

You get carried awAy with that if you wish but in the real world the superleague clubs are spending a lot more than us. Like I said you're squad is less than average on paper in comparison to the superleague clubs.

It's possible but difficult and unlikely (as it requires lots of other results to help you out) that 4 wins from 7 would be enough for 3rd place. Using the teams you name Leigh would need two of the SL clubs (for example) Wakefield and Salford to both lose to the other two SL clubs (Hull and Hull KR). Salford then beat Wakefield. Leigh beat Wakefield and the other KPC clubs to get 8 points, the most Wakefield (still to play Fev, Bradford and Halifax) can now get is 6. Salford having beaten Wakefield beat Leigh and have four points with three KPC clubs to play. So for Leigh (8 points) to have a chance of getting 3rd Salford must also lose to Bradford (for example) and finish with at most 8 points if they beat Fev and Halifax and 3rd spot comes down to points difference. If Salford had dropped a further point by drawing with Wakefield (or Fev or Fax) then they finish 4th with 7 points and Leigh get 3rd. In that scenario Leigh would still need to manage to win against the right one of the 4 SL teams and get 2 SL teams and a KPC team to beat the other weak SL team to help them.

The odds do swing a little in Leigh's favour if in an otherwise identical scenario two of their 4 wins are against Wakefield and Salford as both of those will have then lost 3 games just as Leigh would. At that stage a dropped point for either of the two SL clubs in their remaining 4 games (v the other 3 KPC clubs and each other) means that they could not claim 3rd place as they could not reach 8 points. A draw between Salford and Wakefield or the victor of that game failing to beat one of Bradford, Fev or Fax would see Leigh take 3rd spot.

Either scenario rely on a lot of ifs and buts and helpful results elsewhere. Winning 4 of 7 should make you sure of a spot in the 4th v 5th playoff which still allows a chance of promotion but in reality the team that gets 3rd will probably have won 5 out of 7 games (or won 4 and drawn 1).

We, Leigh, are spending less than London and Bradford so far but understand we have 2 imports arriving end of June currently playing first grade NRL to bolster the push in the 8's

What difference does that make? It's your first team squad. Any players not in it are deemed not good enough for it.

As I said Leigh's real strength is from astute signings not from lots of top quality homegrown players as you inferred.

so if we finish top, we will play 2nd, 3rd, 4th and i think the 11th team in SL at home. Then go away to the bottom club in SL, 9th and 10th team. So the fixtures could be :-

You said Leigh produce and keep their players these days, yet Leigh only have 8 in a first team squad of 30.
That doesn't tally with your statement. That suggests Leigh sign most of their players from another club. It's not a particular criticism of Leigh, it's difficult to do, but the facts don't back up your assertion.

Whenever you go on holiday despite you saying otherwise your wife talks you into going to the welcome meeting. Once there the meeting is taken over by one load chav family from Lancashire (you know he's got tribal tattoos despite the fact he's in his 40's perma tanned and a beer gut, wife is the colour of mahogany and has a belly button ring despite being in her 40's, the teenage son has an ear ring and the daughter dresses like a hooker despite the fact she's 12) with the dad talking over everyone and making really pathetic and childish jokes that he passes off as 'banter' and it's even more annoying when you get it into your head that the other people there like him.

From that moment on for the rest of the holiday he is your enemy. No matter how hard you try and no matter how much the wife goes on at you he gets under your skin every time you hear his stupid lancashire accent over the top of everyone and you lay awake at night thinking about him. Everytime there's a water polo game in the pool you have to go up against him and again no matter how hard you try he always seems to get on top. Rubbing it in your face whilst again passing it off as 'bants' winding you up even more. Now of course he's only doing that because he hasn't got a right lot else going on in his life and you eventually realise that everyone else in the hotel hates him as well. But for that moment when you're seeing red with rage he is your nemesis.

So far this season that's kind of been Leigh for me.

That said you have to give credit where credit is due. If you consider the position Leigh were in when Rowley and Beaumont got going in 2013 - 8 homegrown players is a massive achievement. If you consider that every year if you get 1 or 2 out of the academy that make the grade you're doing very well.

A lot of hard work has gone into the club there and they are starting to see success.

Some of these leigh fans are an embarrassment. I do think we will get promoted but some of these fans think we are owed the right too be promoted and become arrogant! I think we will beat the sl team at home and if we get hull Widnes or vas away we will pick 2 wins up there!!

You are capable of winning the home game depending on who it's against.

Hull, Cas and Widnes (if that is indeed the teams you'll face, wouldn't be my prediction tbh) might not be the best teams in the world, but they are all hard places to go to. In games that really matter, I couldn't see you turning any of them over away from home.

I wouldn't know who will be at the bottom! I think the only cert would be wakey! There's a difference I don't go ballooning in the other forums! I really do think we could beat Widnes away hull have surprised ME be honest being down there wouldn't like go kc! I think cad are there for the taking!! Would that be Widnes who have only lost 1 home game this season (v St. Helens)?
Hull who beat St. Helens away today?
Cas who beat Warrington away today, currently sit 8th in the league?

Not saying you can't possibly beat them but to be as confident as you are seems a little optimistic to me

I'd really like to see Leigh have a crack at SL. They certainly deserve it.

However, a lot of their fans seem to be high on the fumes of Championship success and it's blinding the rational side of their brains. The 'bottom' teams in SL over the last few years seem to have pulled their socks up. The likes of Salford, Widnes, HKR and Cas are significantly different beasts than they were. If Leigh were to transplanted into SL next week, they'd finish bottom by the end of the year. Certainly in the bottom two.

They need to realise that when/if they ever get into SL it's going to be a tough acclimatization to get where they want to be.

True if we're put I'm right now with current squad we would come bottom no doubt. As anybody would as you need a close season too recruit for superleague it's a completely different game! I think over the case of 4 games though against superleague this squad is good enough too cause some upsets! I don't watch as many games as you lot at sl one thing I have wondered is with everybody beating everyone have the bottom sides got better or the too got worse? I totally understand it is going too be extremely difficult for ourselves and the other 3 championship teams but I don't think the standard is as bad as you think amongst the top teams. Leigh have a big squad full of quality and Rowls is doing a class job of keeping the big boys fresh up top! As I have said I know the sl clubs don't like the new system but the championship clubs have been reinvigorated! A crown of 7500 between us and Bradford is unreal I really think we could be pushing at least 8,500 at oral

Anyone who follows Leigh will be euphoric at the moment.
Last seasons Champions top of the league, some "star" signings and a club that is certainly on the up, promotion to SL is back.
Until thy suffer a set beck, the euphoria will continue to grow and why not.

Enjoy it while it's there but, remember, nothing is won in April and there is a long way to go !

It would be great if one of the "top" clubs ended up in the middle 8 and better still if they struggled but, Warrington will be nowhere near the bottom 4 when it matters.
