These points are all valid and troubling if the rumours are true. But you are assuming that the rumours are true. Of course anything is possible with David Hughes at the helm. But I would wait till I got confirmation from a credible source before jumping to any conclusions. |

The NRL has refused to register former NZ Warriors' prop Russell Packer's registration with Newcastle Knights. However[i if[/i Russell Packer can win his court case, which involves criminal charges of assault, he would be available for Super League in 2014. That means that he could be available for London Broncos.
[iIn making the decision to knock back Packer's registration, NRL chief operating officer Jim Doyle said his organisation had found enough evidence of behavioural breaches.
"We will always respect the court process and, if the only facts in question are those before the court, then clearly we will ordinarily wait for them to be resolved," Doyle said in a statement on Friday.
"We have also been clear that we will always act on any information that demonstrates behaviour which is contrary to the interests, welfare and image of the NRL.
"While we make no inference in relation to the charges that Russell is facing, our Integrity Unit has reported conduct that leaves us with little choice other than to refuse the application for registration."[/i

They have potentially the largest fan base by far, largest playing pool and can offer a massive incentive living in London. all in all the right amount of money and man power they could be a force, if they settle for just survival then it will just repeat. |

Koukash is still a benefactor, not an investor. At least I hope for Salford's sake that's how he sees it, because he doesn't have a cat in hell's chance of making money out of an RL club, the same as any other chairman. |

the subtle difference is that they are a rugby league club and can turn over a profit if run right. just because at present they don't doesn't mean they can't. anybody who has the right money and gets the right people and are willing to work hard can make London successful. Or whats the point to carry on bothering with a team that relies heavily on hand outs and has no ambition to do better? |

I find this London XXX a total embarrassment towards Superleague, they have been in decline for 19 years now. How many false dawns do we need to absorb, when in reality the borough of London doesn't want a professional rugby league team.
We all know it would need the London Rugby Union teams to go out of existence to give London XXX a chance, better odds of winning the lottery.

In all seriousness I hope not. If they move again in five to ten years . All that would do is ruin any base they have consolidated. I London is not a sporting area. People dont support London,they support an area of London. For a London side to progress fan wise they need buy in from the place where they play. Whilst you will pull people in from other areas. You have to keep you base in one place. Name me any 2 topflight teams in any sport with as many combined moves as London in the last 20 year's. Certainly in SL. Leeds never moved. Wigan once and about 1mile. Saints 2moves. Warrington 1 move. Hull 1 move. Etc you get the point.
Moving does not breed fans. |
