I don't think I'm in the know? I just post what people tell me, you know people make a career out of the very same thing, except its printed in a news paper under sports section.

I did say all this would come back and bite you on your ass.

The problem is that you post what people tell you, pretty much stating it as fact. If I'm being honest, I've seen some of your posts that could be construed as quiite arrogant (whether that's what you intend or not) and it's giving the wrong impression off about Salford fans. I've seen various people across these forums recently refer to our fanbase as deluded and arrogant which, as a whole, we simply aren't.

Players move, deal with it, did you see any warrington fans crying when Blakely decided he wanted to go back to being a big fish in a small pond at salford? no, we wished him well on his way.

Warrington have only just joined the top table please don't think otherwise. Steve Blakeley realised he made an error in judgement and came back to us. He left one small pond for another.

This is how I know things are going to happen, it was the same when city were taken over you had fans from everywhere saying their only going for the money, but what you don't realise is you have to show big players big money otherwise you don't get them, and even if they are persuaded by big wages there not going to play badly their going to give their all, so if enough class players come for the money then were definitely going in the right direction.

Success comes from the ground up in this sport. Look at the top teams - Wigan, Warrington, Leeds - the core of each is a team that has been playing together for a good deal of time or have come up through the academy. Sure, there are some big names that have come with a hefty price tag, but to build a whole team of those players and expect success would be very risky.

[iHaving said that [/i I appreciate Koukash needs and wants to show intent quickly to get fans in and support for the club so perhaps a top 8 finish with a team of older 'stars' is what they need next season. We'll see....

Can't disagree with that.

I think if Salford make the 8th spot next year it will have been a good year. Anything more would be a massive bonus. Koukash has to play a difficult game in trying to improve in the short term for increased support/income etc and set up a long term goal to maintain it. All the information I've heard points to him working very hard to get long term plans set in motion. If they come off we'll be heading in the right direction.

You've got to love how jealous and bitter towards Salford and Dr Koukash opposition fans have suddenly become. When was the last time we were able to splash some cash around? Instead of giving snide digs and making yourself look like a d*ck, why not be happy that a club that was close to ceasing to exist only 6 months ago is now preparing to make Super League an even more competitive product.

But Slford have decent youngsters - Sneyd, Fages, Broughton - all good young players, but when they come into a side like Salford (currently), then they don't have the support that the youngsters at Wigan, Warrington and Leeds get. That's what Koucash needs. He needs a better base to help these guys develop - the only way to do that in a short space of time is sign experienced pros.

This is true.

We have a crop of outstanding youngsters chomping at the bit. In fact, throughout the debacle we went through pre-season, our youth set-up has remained steady and performed very well. Most of it down to Alan Hunte and the backroom staff. There's a number of very good prospects waiting in line. Like you said, we don't have much experience to guide them into the step-up to first team.

It's like Cullen said a few years ago about us when he was still in charge "we will have to load from the top" this is until the youngsters start coming through from the academy.

Salford will have to do similar for the time being, however it is imperative that money is spent on youth development at the same time. We only won something when our good young kids actually started breaking into the first team.

We went from 2004-2008 throwing money at all and sundry, and we achieved sweet fa. However what SHOULD be Paul Cullen's legacy at the club as head coach is the work he did with the academy.

Taking two of ours and Super Leagues brightest prospects (Myler and Ratchford) assisted a little too Lefty.

Well, that's kind of exactly my point.

I think Warrington underachieved for years under Cullen, should of easily won something with the players you had, what was the difference between your club then and your club now is, (coaching staff) since tony smith and his backroom team took over the mentality at your club completely changed and average to good enough players like Westwood Briers and Harrison stepped it up a notch and become brilliant players in the space of a year, it's all about attitude and smith changed the attitude at your club tenfold.
Now us at Salford hopefully have the right structure behind the scenes and we just need to build the squad capable of challenging.

People forget that Salford do have the youth structure in place already. This season alone we have had 10 players play 1st team rugby who have progressed through our youth System.

Theo Fages, Marc Sneyd, Gareth Owen, Niall Evalds, Adam Walne, Edwin Okanga-Ajwang, Jordan Walne, Jon Ford, Will Hope and George Tyson. Granted the last 4 in that list have only played in the cup against Gloucester All Golds but all 4 of them scored and have been tipped to make the step up in the next couple of years.

Add to this 19 year old hooker Adam Files who is out on a season long loan at Oldham and recently won the championship 1 player of the year. I'd say that the youth is in place, we just lack the quality senior players to help them see their full potential.

But neither would your academy kids be "any good" if they played in a team as bad as Salford's is at the moment.
