| [quote="Simmo71":1srggn1p]It's not really a strange comment.
Wakey fans (granted, not you) came onto a Leeds forum to say that he was 'Wakey bound', obviously trying to goad Leeds fans.
So it was a response to those comments.
Anyway, regardless, he was never really going to go anywhere else, as his interview has confirmed.
But agree with the others above, great to see real ambition from Wakey. I can see you winning a few games this season.[/quote:1srggn1p]
Mik was never going to really go anywhere else it was just a case of everyone being happy with the deal - I don't know this but Ive got a feeling its been done for quite a while and they've just delayed the announcement
There's a few Hull KR fans backtracking on their opinion on him now as some were sure he was joining Rhys.

| I wish people wouldn't death ride clubs like Salford. I'd like to see them get through this and thrive without losing players. Its not good for the game if any club gets in strife. Sadly Salford alone amongst the sporting clubs in the area seem to struggle to get backing - Sale and Salford City have owners with relatively deep pockets. Before anyone gets too sanctimonious about the way Salford operate, just remember that our club came close to self-imposed bankruptcy not too long ago.

| As the RFL have said they will give dispensation as regards the salary cap re signing Salford players , we have to go for Sneyd. He would solve a major problem in our team - our kicking game ( Frawley ) is terrible. He has no distance and cant find the ground - it is a massive weakness - compare him to Smith at Wigan. The kicking game is more important in the current game more than ever before .
As Salford will need players in to replace those leaving , we could use Frawley as part of the deal. This move , if successful , would give us
great chance of competing for the top 4.

I don’t want Salford to be in the state they are, but the reality is they are.

I feel very sorry for Salford fans who have literally supported the club out of their own pockets. I feel a lot less sorry for the club, who despite being in special measures for the 2nd time in two years, were still planning a trip to Portugal this week. How many times does this have to happen before they learn to live within their means? If we were to end up with a Watkins or a Sneyd as a result of this I wouldn't feel guilty about it.

Hull fan has just told me they are in for Sneyd and Cross.

| Salford are losing money hand over fist and that`s after getting probably more money than most on player sales these last 2 years.
If they sell even more of their top players Sneyd, Cross, Watkins to name 3.
Then their chances of winning games will diminish even further and as a result will lose their fanbase and revenue.
It`s like a slow death unfortunately.
I would love Sneyd at Leeds but doubt we will fork out the transfer fee or be able to offload Frawley.

| Thinking about this a bit more I would be happy with Sam Stone from Salford who always looks good when I`ve seen him play.

| Bringing Watkins back makes absolute sense, he’s been great in the second row and also is a good goal kicker. When you think about it we’ve only got McDonnell, Bentley and then it’s Gannon, Littlewood.
Miller
Sivo Newman Handley Hall
Croft Frawley
Oledzki Ackers Palasia
Bentley McDonnell
Smith
Connor, Lisone, Jenkins, Watkins (O’Connor injured)

| Watkins makes a lot of sense. Not sure I’d be too interested in anyone one else. Maybe sneyd if nothing else it’ll let Sinfield go on a proper loan.

| No chance Frawley goes - BA likes/rates him and made him captain for a game last season.
If we go for anyone it will be Watkins IMO.

I agree. We currently bat deep at half back (Croft, Frawley, Connor, Sinfield) but we're light in the 2nd row, which is a far more attritional position. Watkins makes more sense, and if anybody is well positioned to strike a deal it would be Blease.

This was something Matt Shaw came up with in a largely nonsensical article. The pre-season training trip will have been booked and paid for a long time ago.

I'm sure it was but either way it's surely an unnecessary large expense for a club with particularly shaky finances, having recently stayed afloat by selling off 3 of it'main assets and going cap in hand to their supporters.. seems irresponsible.
