8 First teamers missing playing our 10th different HB combination this year winning with 2 kids playing and with 16 men. We were never gunna win with spark , we haven't all season, but we out fought and out gritted you, something Cas sides have been criticised of lacking in recent years.

| I’m glad our SL season is over. We’ve stunk the place out bar Hull away and Wigan at Magic.
Trying to kick for goal from inside our own half when we were building pressure with 7 minutes left summed up our SL season. Mental decision!
I’m happy with the Challenge Cup this year, I’ll watch the re-run of the game back a couple of times over the Winter and hopefully the Great Britain series will be good!

Wowsers. Only really heard them twice - first in the third minute singing about saints and booing at full time.

That decision to kick for goal was laughable. How long has ratchford been known for having an iron boot

Wire brought about a third of that number to our place 5 days after the CC Final. Didn't take long for them to jump back off the wagon did it?

I had to check that it wasn’t a rugby union game at altitude in South Africa for a moment.
Utterly bizarre!

Yep a daft decision. The player himself holds responsibility for that. Should have had the balls to say he couldn’t make it. Could have been a different outcome just from that decision.

Dreadful crowd, no wonder the game is struggling to attract sponsors and media attention.
This was 4th v 5th, do or die game, two well supported teams, two out of the five Man Of Steel contenders playing...and yet again tight RL fans wont get off their sofas?

The Thursday experiment has just been a complete failure. Sky should try to move the Premier League to Thursday instead, that would be popular regardless of the scheduling. RL fans just haven't and won't take to Thursdays. I know plenty of my Dad's old mates who won't even go to Saints games on a Friday, yet they're all lined up for academy games at lunchtime on a Sunday.

| Well that went like i thought, we've been getting worse as the season went on. Well done Cas hope you crack on. Attendance was awful but i assume like me most people are bored of our dull boring style of play, and didn't think we would win any way. Glad i went to watch Rambo and saved myself some money, price is clearly coach the skill and creativity out of our squad. If we can't win the grand final next year with Widdop and Austin and a new super prop (not holding my breath) then i doubt we will for a very long time still. Any way got Salford v Wigan to enjoy tomorrow

| Made me really worry about SL to be honest - standard of rugby and the crowd it was played in front of both a little depressing.
That said, very well done to Cas and their fans and good luck for the rest of the play offs.

My Dad and his mates are the same. They won't go to Belle Vue on a Thursday or Friday night. Both are retired, and both say it's too long a day having to wait for a 7.45pm kick off.

Agree with the Thursday & Friday games. Mind you, I find great enjoying Sunday afternoon's in the championship.

During the season there is a balance to be struck with corporate hospitality. But that only applies to Friday games. Thursdays are purely about TV money.
Fridays nights maybe less appealing for the oaps, but Thursdays put off families, away fans, oaps, anyone working close to late. In short pretty much everyone.
SL need to get a handle on their contract writing. Playoffs should never be on a Thursday. It's not part of corporate scheduling so you could say all playoffs on Saturdays and Sundays only.

| I don’t know anyone who likes Thursday games but Sky are our paymasters and if they want to show games on a Thursday and we want the money then that’s when they’ll be.
People saying they won’t go because it’s Thursday, won’t go on a Friday as they only like weekend games or whatever reason they are coming up with is just an excuse. Fans seem to be finding reasons not to go rather than finding reasons to go. It’s like some people prefer having a whinge more than attending a game.
Thursdays will no doubt be difficult for some, especially if you have young children but they don’t come around that often. Football fans manage to fill stadia on Monday’s, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
I’d say to those people get off you’re behind and support your game otherwise it probably won’t survive never mind prosper.

Exactly! I’ve used the same argument for a long time. Football take thousands, mid week, a lot further than we normally have to travel.

The best supported football teams are better supported than the top 4 SL teams. RL is a minority sport.

In football demand exceeds supply. So there are bucket loads who can make up the shortfall.
In RL, you can maybe double a home attendance and still have room to spare.
Simple maths: if you have a room that holds 10 people and five people can't stay it will be half full.
If you have a room that holds 10 people with a queue of 20 outside, then if 5 people go can't stay in the room and 10 people outside can't stay the room will still look full.
That's the difference, except in RL the room was never full in the first place.
