I'm not going to analy argue every point that you make, it's clear you haven't got a clue what you are talking about and have no experience in sports administration particularly at the amateur/semipro level and more importantly within a full-time professional environment.
The only point I will make is that Wakefield lost Ben Westwood to Warrington, Gareth Ellis to Leeds, Keith Mason to the Melbourne storm, Frances Stevenson to Wigan, David March to Huddersfield plus Wayne McDonald along with a number of other juniors.
In Wakefield's first season in super league the Academy team came close runners-up in both the league and grand final to the Leeds team that contained the likes of Rob Burrow, Danny McGuire, Mark Calderwood and Ryan Bailey just to name a few.
Around the same time Wakefield Trinity's team consisted of a number of home-grown players such as Graham and Martin Law, David March, Mark Applegarth, Rob Spicer, Martin Holland, Paul Handforth, Steve Snitch, Tommy Haughey, Chris Feather, Kevin King, etc etc. The club continues to operate a very effective and productive junior system to suggest as you have that Wakefield has not always done this is just ignorant.

Where have the club indicated this out of interest? I was of the understanding that this was their last year at Belle Vue as they had sold it and development started on that site after the season is over? When did this change (or was this ever true?).

Don't know where you got all that from!
Wakey can't sell BV - the last owner did that already! (Very shady, tabboo subject it seems).
There is also a covenent stating that BV can not be developed until a compensatory facility is built i.e. until a new ground is done BV must remain a sports ground (this seems to be the basis of Wakey getting a good rent deal to remain there - without them the land is worthless).

As dboy said. Plus the club have indicated some temporary stands would be installed with cover if we remained in SL. Obviously the hope is the PI for newmarket goes well, and then we go there (although clearly there are no guarantees)

No, clubs employed overseas players because they saw it as an easy short-term option to help them avoid relegation. There is a reason for the correlation between the bigger clubs having fewer overseas players and the lesser clubs having more.
Absolute balls. Wakefield did not have the financial strength precisely because they couldnt put long term strategies in place because every season their main and only priority was to avoid relegation.

I know they have different owners now but at the start of the season it was all about the last season at belle vue.
Something that was on your last licence application was that you would be in a new ground by the next round.

They didn't legislate for the Public Inquiry. Had Newmarket not gone down this route then they may well have been builidng it this summer.

Would the RFL see the PI as a legitimate reason for delay? If so would that put you ahead of Cas?

I'll have some of what you're having mate.
Don't you know there is no place in Super League for Northern teams. SL should consist of quickly thought up clubs with no business plan with and the foundations of a sandcastle watched by a combined audience of 5,000 (breakeven number) Sky viewers.
Over time as the new clubs develop and they put more bums on armchairs they will be in a position to demolish their stands and terracing thus reducing overheads.
Eventually they will be able to play on Mars due to the untapped pool of talent found there on the Sky funded Rover expedition.
Now get with the programme you bloody great flatcapper and then we can do away with the RL wasteland that is the M62 corridor - it's the future.

.........and Leigh, Halifax, and Featherstone, etc. My big problem with this licensing process is that it turns fans against each other because the criteria of performance on the field is replaced by the politics of performance off the field. You cannot argue against defeat on the pitch - knock-out comps, promotion/relegation, etc, but you can argue forever about stadia, attendances, import players, history, etc. Sadly for Wakey fans this year they are now feeling the fear of championship football. But when they (the club, not the fans) felt they were safe when licences were issued last time, they had no problem with the proces, its fairness or its suitability for our great game. Now they are threatened by this very same process, all of a sudden it is unjust, in-appropriate and the work of the devil! If it was good enough for Leigh, Halifax, Widnes, Featherstone, Barrow, etc, last time, it is good enough for all current SL clubs now. You cannot buy into a system/process when it suits and then argue against it when it doesn't.
Good luck to Wakey and all other clubs this time round, but I will not be signing the 'I like' page.
I'm out!

IMO Wakefield are now ahead of Castleford anyway, Wakefield have ALL the funding in place and can begin building as soon as the PI and full planning is granted.
The schedule for the PI makes it highly likely that a decision will be forthcoming by April/ May of next year, a full planning application will be submitted almost immediately and would be expected back by July/Aug.
Building would probably commence by Nov/Dec 2012
Castleford have full planning permission for their stadium but no money to even start building. Their funding will come from the proposed sale of Wheldon Rd to a supermarket developer but that sale is subject to obtaining planning permission. Unfortunately it is expected that the planning application will go to a PI which as we know could delay the sale and build considerably. Even if the supermarket plans don't get called in it's very unlikely that planning permission will be obtained inside of 18 months meaning Cas & Wakefield would be running neck & neck.
In real terms Castleford, despite having planning permission for their stadium, are right back to square one with no money to build and subject to the whole planning process (for the supermarket) all over again.

| If the RFL stick to their statement that applications would be judged on what is in place, rather than what might be in place for 2012, then both Wakey and Cas are in difficulties - Wakey more so because of their brief flirtation with administration. Plan B. A year or so ago, clubs were all visited by the RFL and advised on what was expected of them in terms of them following up on the perceived weaknesses in their last bid to help them with their preparation and presentation of their new bids for 2012. It is hard to see fans of clubs other than Cas or Wakey sympathising with their plight - although many of us feel that no club should be sacrificed on the altar of expansionism alone. P & R for me but with minimum safe-guards in place to protect clubs from themselves. Look at the soccer play-offs in the next few weeks. Fantastic for all involved. Burnley and Blackpool were given the chance to live their dream. With safeguards in place, don't fans of RL clubs deserve the same?
