No, it's not. They probably hold it there because a) It's available and b) It's in the heartlands - I'm seriously considering the game with it only been an hour away from Hull, if it was in Manchester (around 2 hours 20) I wouldn't go.

Whilst im not doubting you or others who have said the same I would still like to see where that is said in the planning consent. The only time I have heard of a limit on events is from RL fans yet nobody can point us in the direction to when that has ever been said by Manchester City Council.

Just wouldnt mind seeing in black and white, because the way some people talk on here they know all the ins and outs of the whole set up with Man City and Eastlands, yet have no evidence. All I know is that Manchester City Council own it, though I have no idea who's right it is to allow certain events over the year and how the finances work with regards to the council and Man City. Do we really know it wasnt an option?

Its not really up to them, they didn't want anymore gigs being held there and look where that got them.

Another case of ''If it aint outside of Yorkshire its not bloody worth visiting'' I'd take it you'd travel if it was a Hull game?

Not impractical at all but it is convention, given the location of RL fans, to have one in Lancs, one in Hull and one in W Yorks. Plus this year the fourth game was Wembley. When it's built they can play the equivalent of the Wales game in Cas Vegas

I'd double check on the phone tomorrow as I had an instant email reply. It could simply be that you've entered the wrong email.

| Great news that they've opened the upper tier, hopefully it will sell out and Elland Road will be a caldron of noise. Whenever the austrailians have possesion we need to make it as intimidating and hositle as possible as in the NRL they're not used to playing in such an atmosphere. I'm all for respecting them pre and post match but when the game kicks off give 'em 80 minutes of hell.

If you were disagreeing about the wooden seats, then I'm afraid I can confirm that there are still a large number of wooden seats. I was sat on one at the Leeds-Melbourne WCC game last year.
If that wasn't what you were picking up on, apologies for mis-reading your post!

Agreed. I hated seeing some people clap the Aussies onto the pitch at Wembley.

| Clapping the opposition is a concept I've never quite understood. I don't think I'm a disrespectful person, I'll be quiet during their national anthem etc, but I'd never clap an opposition team try, or goal in football. At the very most I'd give them a ripple of applause at the end of the game. I'm there to support my team/country.
I agree we need to make it as intimidating as possible for eighty minutes, we need to do everything we can in the stands to give our lads the best possible chance of causing an upset.

| In my thirty odd years of watching RL, I've always clapped good play, no matter which side it's by.
A good score is a good score, regardless.

Stick to soccer then, most RL fans have more respect for the opposition.
