Does anyone actually like the Sky commentary? Usually you’d get a few people saying it’s alright and they don’t mind it but it seems 100% of viewers detest it (fwiw I agree).

Barrie McDermott offers something a little bit similar, Brian Carney at least has some knowledge of what’s going on. I like Jon Wells but he only seems to do analysis rather than commentary.

Sky bring you even more live RL games over this weekend, but theres complaints that they didn't give enough time to pundits which you moan about anyway.

Unfortunately I'd dozed off when this incident happened (exciting game) so this may have been mentioned, but hasn't Houston got a bit of history for colliding with referees?

I used to defend Stevo, he made little sense most of the time but was at least always lively and enthusiastic, he brought excitement to matches even when the quality was low. Eddie was also a great caller in his time, which has sadly long passed now.

The current Sky commentary team is the worst I've ever heard for any sport, anywhere, ever. It seems like they've tried to improve the balance of things this week by bringing in Jon Wells, who at least offers some relevant tactical analysis, but it doesn't make much difference because he's drowned out by the inane chuntering of the thick Northern stereotypes Barrie and Terry, plus Cummings who adds nothing and whose presence is a constant distraction from the match. I just about could stomach a team of Eddie, McDermott and Wells for the rest of the season, ideally both Eddie and McDermott would also be replaced. O'Connor and Cummings need to go NOW. It's legitimately becoming unbearable to watch the matches at this point.

To be fair 1986 was a good year for wrestling.

“The” is starting to filter from Eddie to everyone else now. Warrington are not called that anymore according to Sky they are called “The Warrington club”... “The Widnes club”... “The Catalans”... “The Saints”... “The Wigan club”... The whole commentary team were at it last night.

The names of the players will be next; “here’s The Ben Currie, he passes to The Stefan Ratchford, he runs around The Widnes club’s players and scores a The Try!”

I wouldn’t mind but our actual nickname “The Wire” is NEVER used! The only club in SL with a name started with “The...” which is on the club badge and they don’t call is that. But call everything and everyone else “The...”

The only good but of insightful and intelligent talk is with Carney and Wells (sorry, “The Carney” and “The Wells”) and last night we didn’t get even a snippet of either pre or post-game!

I wouldn’t be surprised to see, when this current deal is up, all SL games on Premier Sports and Sky having three NRL games on a weekend with no SL other than All The Tries for 30minutes once a week.
