Saints were big fabourites going into both of those grand finals. All round I thought they were a much better side, they also won the cup both seasons too. The league table in 08 ended up close but IIRC saints let slip something like a 6 point lead at one point as they cruised into the business end

If you actually watch the game and look for hands, fingers, forearms to the face you will see a high proportion are wearing green and gold.



What Smith did was unnecessary and not acceptable in the same way at Tompkins being picked up and thrown to the floor.

...and you are trying to say that SL only gets coaches who can't hack it in the NRL or that can't get a gig after coaching in SL. Neither of which is true, as those names above (among others) clearly show.

Slater's OK. But he'll never be good enough to wipe a prime Minichiello's boots.

I don't think he is a great defensive full back, but that's not what he's there for.

Until we stop thinking that full backs need to be better defensively rather than in attack we'll continue to pick plodders like Briscoe and have one less weapon against the worlds best sides.

hopefully jordan tansey will have a big year at hull. hes looked pretty handy when i've seen him at full back

Jordan Tansey is a very skillfull player, just couldn't get a run in the leeds side, he will go well at hull, he didnt look out of his depth playing forthe Chooks either.

Mini's back is buggered. He can't even reach down to wipe his own boots these days.

I must admit it's a side of him I hadn't seen before and was surprised by it. As a player I'd argue there's no-one better but his temperament was clearly suspect in that game
