I was wondering this myself. Just after the game ended, the Salford twitter account said
Quote "We'd like to apologise for the behaviour of some of our fans today. We'll be working with @Giantsrl to find those involved." '"
followed by
Quote "We do not condone any behaviour of the sort." '"
Since then, there have been some very unsavoury images on both social media and in the national press. The Daily Mail seems to be suggesting that the players stepped in to protect family members after there was a crush, but I'm sure the facts will come out. In which case, someone needs to explain why there was a crush at an all-seater stadium. However, I wasn't there so I'd only be speculating.
Incidentally, Salford's twitter also says
so I'd suggest that's a good idea.
And before we go off on a 'Salford fans are the scum of the earth' rant, I've had some good laughs with Salford supporters over the years, notably after our Wembley defeat in 2014. So lets remember that. |

You'll get all the usual comments of how nobodies seen them at a game before. They're football fans etc etc but the fact is they were at it at Odsal last season.
It's not just them we've seen it from fans of other clubs too in recent years. Time to stop just fining and start docking points. Was going to suggest clubs being forced to play behind closed doors but that's not really a punishment to Salford

| Sounds like someone ran on the pitch at full time, the stewards were removing him and a group of fans went for the stewards, crushing some players' wives & kids. The players waded in to help their families. A group from an amateur club were sat in that section on a stag do and are being named, rightly or wrongly.
I know quite a few lads in those pictures. Reckon a few will be getting a knock on the door in the next few days.
Hope that little girl is ok.  |

Looking at those pics how the hell was there a crush. It's a massive stand and there's about 20 people in the shot.. good to see the national press taking an interest in RL. If this hadn't happened the game would have been lucky to get a mention
