I have thanks. It's that much of an eye gouge that neither does he touch the eyes nor does L'Estrange react or report it to the ref. But don't let facts interrupt a Wigan fan's hatred of McGuire.

Firstly i don't join in with anyone's childish 'hatred' of anyone else.

When i viewed it back it looked like he tried to throw a punch, l'estrange was too close so he made contact with the forearm instead, not a great deal in that, he then looked to gouge. If nothing is said by the RFL on Monday then they obviously agree with your opinion.

It was interesting what Clarke said afterwards. ''They've just poked the eye of an angry bull here''. Maybe i'm reading too much into it but i read that as him wanting to make reference to it but deciding (after his rugby gods comment) that he probably had better not.

The sky team love in with Leeds continued in the Bulls game, so around minute 15 I tuned the sound off. And enjoyed the game much much more.

Is this the McGuire that when he went of injured at Wigan after giving away a penalty Clarke wished he had an injury that bad he would never play again?

He didn't wish him a career ending injury your talking sensationalist rubbish! He said it was ironic that in the act of cheating Wigan out of a certain win Maguire got injured and that the rugby God's had dealt him a blow.

TBF Clarke didn't so much wish an injury upon McGuire, merely imply his injury was deserved.
It was a scumbag thing to suggest from someone who doesn't normally say scumbag things.
He still gets booed at Headingley and quite rightly in my opinion.

There were a small minority of Wigan fans on the Wigan board who said some pretty scumbag things too, including wishing injury upon McGuire. Fortunately most Wigan fans were a bit more grown up about it all.

Agreed. If L'Estrange had given him a smack I wouldn't have complained as McGuire was getting worked up for some reason

The issue with Clarke's comments on the McGuire injury was his implication in his Sky Sports column that Danny in some way "deserved" an injury that required a knee reconstruction, simply for committing a professional foul against his beloved Wigan.

Coming from someone who had his own career ended prematurely by injury, the hypocrisy of it was sickening.

Clarke was referring to the irony of the situation and it was ironic. He never at any stage even suggested that DM deserved the injury.
