| Quote ="weaver93"This makes sense..
Burgess is already laying the foundations , Briers will have less pressure, in taking over from Burgess., who will return to Australia, not if, but when.
We are a totally 'different kettle of fish ' a polar opposite of Warrington., we need someone to change our core skills, a total reset.
I personally don't feel Briers is the right fit for us at this time, his strength is attack coaching.
In my opinion, we need someone who's forte is defence, someone who has experience from Melbourne would be ideal.'"
Think our 'resurrection' (if indeed that is what it is to be) will most likely take two different phases. We need someone to build some sturdy foundations which to build upon, to make us a competitive side once more, difficult to beat with the right attitude, a team who other sides are at least wary of when they come to meet us. In truth, I thought TS was going to be that man, turns out no he wasn't!!
Phase 2 would then involve someone, probably with high-class credentials, building on those foundations and hopefully making us challengers for the big prizes once more. I think that state of events would suit Briers more, to build on part-work already completed. I'm not sure he may be the man to build us up all the way from where we find ourselves right now.
From Briers perspective (if I was him) I would be taking the same view. Possibly the right club, but the wrong time and situation for him to throw his lot in with us. Given his standing within British RL, I would be holding out for a slightly better opportunity before committing to anyone at this point in his life. He has Wire head coach written all over him.
I'm not convinced we can put enough on the table to entice him to join. I'm not sure whether either he is the right man for us in 2025 or whether also we are the right club for him. If we were 6th/7th and looking to move back into the upper sphere then possibly, but I don't honestly think the time is right for either him or us to make it happen.

| John Davidson on Twitter saying some interesting news coming out at 6pm.
Wonder if it's anything to do with us since 6pm is our usual announcement slot. If it is then I wouldn't he surprised if its Rivhardson on loan.

| Great news to have Ellis back.
Also great to learn that we have a performance department. Where the heck has that been the last three years?!

| Pleasing to read these comments from Richie Myler
Quote “Having spoken to the playing group myself, it is clear that the respect that Gaz commands is of the highest regards, and it was immediately clear to me the value of him having a role within our group.
“We’re delighted to have him back on board and I’m excited to have him help us reconnect with our identity as a club going forward.”'"

| Great to have a ellis back here. A man with his knowledge and respect, we should have always found a role here to utilise his skills
Welcome back Gaz.

| Fantastic news to have Gaz back, he never wanted to leave and to have another shot with him is mega. Just ’the name’ we needed back with us and again, the club is showing intent. Absolutely made up with this, well done Richie Myler.

| I did playfully tout Gaz as a head-coach option when BH departed.
I was out-enthused for all those who were paying homage to Tony Smith upon installment.
One things for sure, our double Cup winning El Capitano couldn't possibly have done much worse like.

Hmmmmm noticed how he's just stepping in on the performance side for this year but his role will change next year? Perhaps into coaching?

| Wow, welcome back Gaz. Here’s a curve ball, I stated several times that Smith was headed for DOR then Grix taking over coaching. Maybe Grix suggested bringing Ellis back as defence coach while he gets on with the gig.

| Hull FC still holds a very special place in my heart. I still love the club. Even over the last couple of months, I’ve been watching games and shouting at the TV, which shows there’s still a great element of care there.

Its a good job the club woke up in time and sacked Smith .
Dread to think with his poor signings as the coach where the club would be if he was the DOR.
Think we can all now see now how toxic he was within the club.
Bringing Gaz Ellis back into the club is definitely a positive move

| Seems too much of a coincidence the way Ellis left under Smiths tenure and has come back not long after Smith had gone.
Maybe Smith felt threatened with Gaz at the club or he spoke up too much who knows but any club having Ellis involved can only be the better for it.
His leadership has been a huge miss in and around the club. Credit to Myler for looking deeply in to all aspects of the club and acting to get Ellis back.

| That article is just a repeat of what brookes said.
Cant see Mcdermott when we have Grix and Ellis, think it will be a more attack minded coach.

| Just wondering if FC have been nieve in announcing intrest in Rowley an the targe for Head Coach particularly in respect of the different outcomes ie Salford were the only quote saying thet he was staying putt. Also many quotes saying it was a done deal. I believe we will shortly see Rowley being announced as Leeds Coach ie Leeds have stepped in and outdone us. Just make sure that all the conjecture is left until someone has signed

We never announced interest in Rowley. We offered him the job, Salford made that public. Did anyone say it was a done deal?
