If you think it is to make money ( and you being a Giants fan makes your opinion even more bizarre ) then you don't understand and should not be watching any

Come on then numb nuts. You tell me exactly what Widnes will bring to Super League.
And as for having 'a wealthy owner',it doesn't matter if he's a multi-billionare as you only have a certain amount you can spend. Or did you not know that?
Top players want to sign for top clubs. This is were Widnes will struggle.
Beyond a few National Rail Cups they have no record of success since the early-90s so tell me which quality players will want to pitch up at the Stobart to improve their current garbage team?

Come on then soft lad. I challenge you to tell me were i'm on a bull streak....
My points from my earlier post.....
1) Widnes may have a wealthy owner.
But that doesn't matter because we have a salary cap and all only have a certain amount we can spend. Is that bull?
2) Top players want to sign for top clubs.
Is that bull? This the case in all other sports.
3) Beyond a few National Rail Cups,Widnes have no record of success since the early 90s.
Is this bull? A check of the history books since 92-93 will tell you it isn't bull.

If that was the case then warrington did not deserve to be in super league before 2009.

Really? So why have we been in every year since 1996?
As for the WCC. What has something won in 1989 against a jet lagged and demotivated Canberra team got revelance 22 years later?
Wigan have only won 1 more major trophy than Wire since SL started. So much for the self-styled 'world's biggest club'.

The point is, it gives the Clubs & supporters in the lower leagues the aspiration to get to the top.
If that’s taken away, those clubs would wither & die.

| To be pedantic:
The only club that can lose their licence for 2012-15 is Widnes. They're the only club with a licence for that period. They won't and shouldn't lose that.
Of the 15 clubs which don't have licences for 2012-15 but are bidding for the 13 which will be awarded this summer: the clubs that should be unsuccessful are the two with the weakest bids.

Which will be Fax and Wakey , Fax because they are being used to make this farce into a supposed application process , and Wakey because they have timed their financial problems to a tee
It should be Crusaders, and then either Cas or Salford

Essentially a worthless post.
There are 14 clubs in super league this year. Which one or more of the existing 14 wont have one in 2012 to make way for Widnes and possibly a successful Halifax if they go with that? That's the question in the thread, that's what was being asked. It's not ing rocket science.
So no, it wasn't pedantic, it was worthless.

| I find the pole results very interesting in that Wakefield are, yet again. the majority choice to lose their licence. I find it interesting because the RFL seem to have been apparently successful in what I consider to the their master deception... a traditional club to go over Crusaders for 'expansion reasons' and not what I think are their real reasons.
I also think that RL fans tend to have short memories. I have some rhetorical questions, as a person that does believe in the expansion of the game in the longer term?
If the idea of a Super League Club in Wrexham is such a great long term idea, why did the RFL not set one up their in the first place and start in the populous area of Wales and the centre of Welsh Rugby Union? Why did they choose to start up another Championship Club in South Wales if North Wales is such a great location for a team, so why not Welshpool or Llandudno, or maybe just back over the border in England in maybe Chester of Stoke-on-Trent? The thing is the Crusaders were moved to Wrexham because the RFL had no choice, simple as!
If the RFL had not lent and were still not currently owed circa £700k by Moss and Roberts and also were able not to lose 'face', with hindsight, for admitting them too early into SL, by kicking them out would they do just that?
If the SoS had not called in the Newmarket Development for a public inquiry and Wakefield, like Salford, were currently busy constructing a new stadium, and also with the added bonus of AG taking over from Ted, would the above poll now show Castleford in last place? Most probably and that is also a huge shame, when it should read Crusaders?
I have more if anyone is interested?

I find it helps if you add IMO or even IMHO after such statements. This clears up any misunderstanding regarding what you think should happen and what the sports governing body will decide. HTH

| I would rather we had an extra couple of teams with Fax joining Widnes. But Wakefield imho have had more than enough opportunity to develop BV or get out. Imho the cocked a deaf un to the RFL for far too long and only when the RFL grew some and decided that they would get serious about their ground did Wakey start to act.
It doesn't have to be the end for them if they are demoted. They will have three years to develop a ground (I do feel grounds are important and I don't think I am alone given how crowds have grown when clubs get decent stadium) and get stability ready for a new application in much the same way Widnes have.
Crusaders would be the other team in danger for me. You only have to look on the thread started by one of their fans to see all is not well. But 16 months after their move north is not sufficient to be kicking them out just yet. If the South Wales team develop a stable footing in the next 3 years then Crusaders might be in danger.
As for not enough talent. The Championship has some cracking players who would love the opportunity to have a crack at SL give them a chance. We also have loads of players playing in the U20s who need to play a better standard of rugby to develop. By having the additional club(s) they might just surprise one or two and in time the Aussie journeyman might disappear.
