So Wakefield are an expansion club as well then, as they are trying to crack a large market that is South Yorkshire (Barnsley area).

Oh, and it's OK for SL to waste TV money on expansion clubs (wait, I thought that was every club) but the NRL (the bigger competition) must look after its own first before going more national.

Keighley is only a few miles from North Yorkshire.

If Salford are an "expansion team" because Manchester is on their doorstep (not Salford is not in Manchester just very close to it).

Then Saints are also one because they are near Liverpool.

And Wigan because they are the nearest SL club to what passes for Lancashire these days.

And Hull FC and Hull KR are the only two teams in the East Riding and the Yorkshire Coast has no team either.

And Doncaster and Sheffield can argue that they are almost Midlands clubs.

In other words if Salford is an expansion club then the term is totally meaningless.

And as we all know castleford formed decades after the northern union are an expansion club, the most succesful expansion side i might add
