Thalers fallen for the 5 card trick on a number of occasions, the interference penalty on Bateman lead directly to a converted try.

Every team does this. It's something that has evolved as a result of the wrestle.

Said when they were going on about playing well when "going under the radar"....that you can't go under the radar come playoff time. When the spotlight and pressure is on they can't match the big sides (and I don't think Wigan have been that good tbh).

If you didn't know otherwise, you'd have guessed this a regular season game under the old top 8 format such is the lack of intensity from the Giants in particular.

Huddersfield's pivot's aren't good enough to win titles, IMO. Hinchcliffe is a very good signing for them, but I'm not sure Grix, and Ellis are good enough to get them to where they want to be. We'll see in 40 minutes, though

As I said there were 2 incidents where Huddersfield knocked the ball out but it was given as a knock on. Just because Huddersfield weren't good enough to score after that and Wigan we're doesn't suddenly mean Huddersfield have been hard done to.

You have probably the 2 niggliest teams who push the rules as far as possible in the league. To go with Batemans head butting there's been a couple of unnecessary pressure put on legs and calves in the tackle by Brough and what could've been a nasty cannonball by Ferres.

These 2 pretty much get what they give in this kind of game. Which is why it's very scrappy and a bit rubbishy to watch.

Huddersfield not good enough. Wigan are not at their blistering best but it's more than enough for Huddersfield. Shame.

That's that, then. I really hoped Giants would be genuine contenders this year, but they've choked again in the pressure game against a big club.

A real shame. This performance probably stems from that Ryan Hall try last week. I think that destroyed any confidence they'd built that they could genuinely compete when it matters.

Wigan have just remained solid throughout nothing too special.7/10

Hudds. 4/10 just have not shown up with anywhere close to the play off intensity needed to win a semi final away at a side unbeaten at home all year. Feel a bit for the Giants fans who have made the trip.

Thing is, Wigan have done this in 2nd/3rd gear. If they played near their best it could've been 50.

Hudds are terrible with the ball. They're like a boxer with a good jab, and solid defense, but no knock out power.

Rename them Huddersfailed.

I have to say I'm disappointed it wasn't the contest I was hoping it would be. Credit where it's due though. Wigan didn't give Huddersfield a chance. Their defence was outstanding.

Will it ever happen for Huddersfield though? I was hoping they might make it this year and for us neutrals to see a new team in the final. I think Leeds did Wigan a massive favour last week, that took a lot out of Huddersfield and it showed tonight.

Well done Wigan, hardly a classic but they did enough.

What was really highlighted, especially in the first half, was the number of times players tried to milk a penalty when playing the ball, and while Thaler dealt quite well with it, it's getting quiet tiresome.
