Worrying how much some of the Leeds players have gone backwards, players like Watkins and Briscoe are shadows of their former selves. Both were once International players, now iI wouldn't have either in the England Knights as it stands. Although that is nothing in comparison to Ferres and how much he has regressed.
Players like Sutcliff and Singleton looked great when they first came on the scene, but again they haven't progressed.
The club is in trouble and desperately need someone to sort it out.

Wane as D.O.R and Powell as coach, if you can get them.

on 3 of the 4 players you've mentioned(not ferres cos he's been garbage since day 1 there) If you read the leeds board, they've wanted him out for ages, citing him being also garbage and some weird diagnosis of his shoulders being knackered which is why he can't take high balls(weird) sutcliffe and singleton have been overhyped just purely because they've come from leeds academy, sutcliffe has been shifted around from position to position hoping something will stick (hello jordan tansey/dwayne barker) and singleton is at best a bench prop, that came in and did well off the back of their other previously firing props. He's ok but nowt special.

Its not a given that London will lose this weekend against Wakefield - We struggled at there place in the first round and they are very capable, Leeds could find themselves rock bottom in a few weeks time, and to think I was laughed off the thread in the pre season predictions for saying they would finish bottom/second bottom.

No you're right it isn't. I am expecting a Wakefield win, but it's a game that London will fancy. If London could win these 2 games Leeds would be in real strife.
I had them 9th and was roundly dismissed. Turns out I was a bit too generous.

Definitely, the ideal scenario has to be to leave Agar there until the summer and let the new coach (surely Wane) have an off season to sort everything out. If they were to appoint a new coach in the next few weeks I could see them getting sacked before the end of the season, as well.

| I would like to know what has happened to Watkins. A few years ago he looked like he could be the first outside back we have produced since Paul Newlove that could compete with the aussie outside backs. He looks to have gone backwards at an alarming pace. He needs to leave as a change of scenery might get him back on the right track. Staying at Leeds with its toxic environment and being built on nepotism is doing him no favours.
I think a move to someone like Wakefield would do him a world of good. Get him grafting again and then when hes almost back to his best, move to someone like Warrington where he can flourish again.

Normally I'd agree with you on this point ruuBronn108, for years now we've been taking ex shudds players and turning them into better players and I'm sure we could do the same with Watkins, unfortunately in this case we don't have room for him as our centres are at too higher a standard, however I'm sure saints would benefit from rehabilitating him as your centres don't quite match up to ours, talking of nepotism you do know that has nothing to do with multiple accounts on here.

| Anyone who goes on the Super League page on Facebook will recall in their previews of the season most Leeds fans were all over it guaranteeing how their side would be back from their 'blip' last season and would be back in the hunt for major honours and the rest need to 'watch out'.
I think most were forgetting the 'blip' was actually their second middle 8s campaign in three seasons.
Now Leeds fans are calling everyone out wanting all and sundry sacked/sold/given away. The toys really are coming out of the prams.
Even during their glory years loads of their supporters were calling for the head of Brian McDermott on a very regular basis. There was a thread over on their site demanding his dismissal that lasted for many, many years.
Well they finally got their own way and they've sunk like a stone since he was forced out. 'Be careful what you wish for' is a dull cliche, but perhaps it's very apt at the moment for Leeds.

Can you please go back and edit the post to also talk about how rubbish Wakefield`s ground is and how all our fans are deluded, it doesn't seem quite the same without it
In seriousness I agree with every aspect of your post, (there is a first for everything!) I referenced a lot of the same pre season as did a lot of other posters only to be shot down.
I actually feel quite sorry for Printer as he seems to be the only Leeds fan on the board that actually realised what was going on, he is fighting a losing battle with his own deluded fans it seems!

I do agree with this part though. Too many fans couldn’t see the bigger longer term picture and why we weren’t spending on the squad and how we had a coach that WOULD and could get something out of what he was given. If any Leeds fan think the squad would’ve looked much different if McDermott in 2015 after the treble then they’re dreaming, the cash wasn’t there. Fans kept dreaming of going back to 2004/05 and thinking we could have that all the time, no wonder we ended up with a coach in Furner that fans were getting giddy about his attacking coach credentials without wondering if he could coach the full package. The saying if you listen to the fans you’ll end up sitting with them springs to mind at Leeds. With all the corporate needing selling for the new stands and new big sponsorships coming in then you had a lot of corporate/sponsors who are mostly fans with important much needed money asking questions about the club and it’s direction before handing over their cash and a lot of them wanted to see the changes we ended up making with McDermott out, GH power reduced and Sinfield. Hetherington bowed to their wishes and gave them what they wanted.

Pretty hard to take someone seriously when they’re (presumably) a grown man and call Huddersfield ‘shudds’. Also, Percival and Naiqama are both streets ahead of Reece Lyne as was Watkins before his injury.

Problem is some people can’t see past how they want to see the club run and what is actually the best way at the time. For example some will go mental if Wane gets the job but he is probably the right fit for where we are right now.

Above is an earlier quote of yours asking what had gone wrong with Watkins, before he was injured he was the best centre in SL, so why are you including him in the past tense?
You my think that Percival and Nagrama are streets ahead of Lyne and Topou, I wouldn't expect anything else, as for your shudds comment that's in reference to Sheffield Eagles takeover of the Huddersfield Giants which somehow came down in favour of the midgets.HTH.

The idea that sponsors forced Hetherington to take a lesser role in Leeds affairs is utterly bonkers, as is the idea that Leeds didn't spend cash on the squad. The club consistently spent up to full cap; unfortunately since 2015 the players have mostly not delivered in return to the value of their contracts.
Hetherington remains the most experienced and astute administrator in British RL. What might be true is that he's been pulled in too many directions in recent years, including presently dealing with the crisis at Leeds whilst also having to oversee the near liquidation of our tenants, of whom he remains a board member. The first team contractual matters moving to Sinfield have shown perhaps how steady Hetherington was in the role.

What’s bonkers is thinking he just relieved a huge and key chunk of his duties at the drop of a hat midseason of his own sole decision. That’s not Hetherington’s style at all and anyone who has watched him operate wrt to Leeds and the RFL over the years should know that he likes things his way, not giving them to someone who immediately came in and criticised the culture and this week slammed the way the club was run previously as rotten. People pouring big money into the club will want to know where that investment will be heading to over the next 2-5 years. Less likely to spend if the setup Leeds had with Hetherington and McDermott which was constantly viewed as the problem amongst many Leeds fans for a number of years remained the way it was.
Spending to the cap is a bare minimum that most clubs do (and Leeds actually always leave a space for a midseason signing if needed...which it was last year but they wouldn’t do). Given we spent over a decade winning trophies and competition money, the best crowds, good sponsorship/merchandise sales/exposure etc. from the success that others barring Wigan don’t come close to matching then no way did we spend what reflected that success. Hetherington went big in the late 90’s signing the likes of Harris and Senior. Brought in the likes of Ali, Webb, Buderus, Peacock during the 00’s. Last several years not even close to that, the most significant ones were ones we kinda fell into unplanned with Ferres’ off field issues causing his departure, Briscoe was meant to be heading to the NRL until it didn’t come off but he’d already announced he was leaving Hull, Segeyaro only because Hardaker had run out lives and got a loan move to the NRL.
