That's great, and I never said anything that detracts from that.
Do you have a sky sub and other Leigh fans that you know?

Not too sure that you can knock Leigh for wanting and trying to get back into SL.
Regardless of how many fans they have, their ground is excellent and assuming that there is any truth in the alleged signings (looks more like click bait to me), they must have a real chance of making the playoffs next season.
Right now, with the antics of Toronto, I'd have them in SL at a heartbeat.
Would they give overall crowd numbers a significant boost or expand the "footprint" of the game, no they wouldn't but, would they deserve a place in the top flight in front of a plastic N .American club who have brought the game into disrepute, absolutely.
Having said all that, there are a few other worthy candidates, including Toulouse, Widnes and of course Fev. Maybe even Bradford will be in the mix at the end of next season.

| Do TWP get a share of the Sky Money? If not then I can see SL chairmen either agreeing to them competing in SL next year or running 11 teams with a bye week. Especially if Sky money is reduced.

Was that the year they had to sack their players because they were skint? Coming after their orange skinned sunbed loving chairman laughed at Bradford for going bust, at a public forum? Leigh - small town club, small time owner. Many more deserving clubs for SL that offer more

You make a good point. The next Sky deal and cash share out is going to have a huge bearing on the future of SL, and whether TWP are re-admitted.

A fact if you completely disregard Super League attendances which in actual fact is the important statistic. Average attendances circa 6,600, attendance v Saints *who admittedly brought a lot & were the best away supported club* circa 9.250 , better supported than Salford, Huddersfield, Wakefield & not a million miles behind Cas & Catalans ! Given Catalans early protection against promotion of more than 6 years *maybe over a decade* & many Clubs, not just Leigh could build a fan base of 8K + !!!
Leigh v Batley = Circa 10,500 *free to enter* & shows that any Club can achieve 10K crowds on "Freebies". I applaud Derek Beaumont for simultaneously giving back to the Leigh fans & to Rugby League in general with a very generous 'one off' Free game ! Not like he did it every week now is it ?
So which is your Club Silent H & what is the H silent for *could reveal why such a bitter attitude* !

More than happy to see London back in SL and my error for not including them in the "maybe" list
Is RL a progressive, expanding or, modern sport ?
It's most recent expansion (N. America) hasn't gone too well and Toronto look to be going the same way as Paris.
I know that there is desperation in some quarters to get them back in to SL next season but, at what cost to the sport's reputation.
Having said that, there doesn't seem to be a win for the sport on this one.
If they drop out of SL it looks bad and if they come back into SL (without penalty), it looks even worse.
In normal times, ANY club behaving as they have done, would be dropped down a League and in the round ball game, they would be down a league and with a points deduction, although in fairness they (football) are a little better run than our sport.

If The Championship runs as "normal" next season, Leigh do look to be having a real good go at assembling a squad to have a genuine shot at promotion.
What happens if we have another season of uncertainty and are unable to complete a full fixture program (and things dont look great at the moment) - already talk of moving the RLWC back
The depth of DB's pockets could be severely tested ?

| Right now, I can't see many championship or league one games taking place next season.. This bl00dy virus is not going away anytime soon. All those teams that did not want participate in the autumn comp because of financial issues, will that still be the case next year in the league campaign(s). A decision will probably have to be made by the RFL in November, early December at the latest as to whether there is any non super league games in 2021......sadly.

The next deal will be agreed sometime early next year.
However September 25th. is the deadline for Superleague deciding on Toronto i.e a "Week on Friday".........

| I doub't the Championship or League 1 will be able to afford to run next season if things continue as they are. There is already talk around the amateur game of a lot of players heading back to their amateur routes where its expected games will be allowed to take place. It will be a real boost that is desparatley needed for the amateur game.

There's also talk of less or even no money for championship clubs come the new SKY deal if that reduces for 2022 onwards which it may well do. So two reasons for a number of clubs to face/consider possible disbandment. I can certainly see no League One in the future?

What? Where will all the overseas club start? How could you be tempted to stay on the forums without overseas clubs to be mentioned on every topic?
Can't be true...

Hi Budgie lad.
You may have a point of course but my 'alternative' view is that the Government if faced with a complete & catastrophic collapse in the economy will throw the doors open for those who can spend *on leisure, retail, holidays, entertainment* etc to spend freely, thus the economy can start to recover & sports with crowds are back on.
Faced with the choice of total economic armageddon & ensuing public unrest & disorder or a few tens of thousands getting ill *to various degrees* then I for one believe that government will side with the economy. Of course I can only hypothesise,.yet remember that early in the Covid19 breaking our government were keen on the "herd immunity" model, which might now be required anyway.
