I can guarantee that we aren't if that helps.

It's actually a really simple formula. You bring through or bring in players who are relatively cheap and then follow your gut instinct by signing the ones you like on long term deals before anyone else has noticed them. If you know your players and you know you can trust them as people then it rarely goes wrong.

It's not even new it's how teams used to be built and how the NRL still does it. It's only wally's like you who are obsessed with reputations and which shirt a player wears who don't get it. There are tons of good players out there in all three divisions just looking for the right club to give them a chance.The fact that people like you are obsessed with yesterday players with big reputations and even bigger wage demands is where SL falls down.

Weird isn't it? I don't see the match report thread for any other team hijacked to belittle and condemn the winning team - but it seems that's what happened in this case. Although you're right - it's a false positive when half of the bull$h1t posts are made by the same person under different user names.

This site is indeed in decline - I am beginning to understand why the fans of some clubs decided to make their own.

When Leigh were pushing for Super League we had vitriol from some of their fans, then from some of the Bradford fans when we beat them in the MPG, then from the faux Frenchmen last season when Catalans were garbage. Now that Widnes are in free fall, we've got ScouseViking hanging around our board and VT threads like a bad smell.

There's a kind of complex developing where if one club believe they should be doing better, they aim their vitriolic abuse at Wakefield fans because 'it should be Wakey who are in the , not us'. It's become a barometer for which clubs are struggling - just see which club's fans are slagging Wakey off.

Indeed, yet both you and I agree that to be the wrong answer. I understand it but all it does as you yourself have stated is create virtual echo chambers or gettos where no opposition exists to the perceived opinion of the supporters of that particular club and that is not good for the wider game.

The Cas forum or nut job forum as we call it is 90% harmless but 10% of it is vindictive and utterly untrue yet it goes virtually unchallenged. It does so because it's what some wish to hear whilst those who know better prefer not to challenge for fear of becoming pariahs.

These forums for all their faults offer alternative opinions even if some are clearly bonkers, that is whats being lost.

I can just about take the ludicrous half truth and bitter claptrap posted on here, this forum has always had that. But this multiple identity crap led by arch sad case and attention seeker the faux frog that is what's really ruining it. It's totally unfair and morally despicable IMHO to post in support of yourself and your agenda without other people knowing for sure if that poster is who they say they are or whether your just another stooge poster. It's the verbal equivalent of the bloke who waits for someone else to throw the first punch then puts a snide kick to the head of the victim as falls to the floor - utterly cowardly.

Finally the ludicrous assertion by the mods that these multiple log ons don't exist is frankly insulting our intelligences. Apart from it being obvious to everybody but them I also know for a FACT that technically its a piece of cake to do. Any IT expert will tell you that an IP address means nothing if the poster has a basic grasp of the technology, proxy servers, non static IP's, multiple location devices, all just off the top of my head.

I'm not sure tbh what the site can actually do to stop it but pretending it isn't happening is most certainly not the answer.

Being a Leyther, I was there last year (when we folded during the second half) and I must admit the Wakefield fans are superb, no gloating not one sign of trouble and everyone I met was most welcoming - credit to them.

When they played Warrington at the LSV, I was with them in the "Centurion" party atmosphere, great day.

The ground is what it is, people forget at least you can get under cover during bad weather unlike Cas and Leeds.

How would you feel if your team was on its 4rs3 heading for the million pound game, while some perennial bottom half finisher with no fans, money or ground turns it around in a few seasons to be half a league better than you, and then on top of that they go and tell you they're spending 330k UNDER the cap.

Well, they're not happy, Widnes and Shudds feel the most let down by our non participation in the bottom 4, we were floating away on a seas of tears a few weeks ago from all the Shudds boohooing on our board when they were bottom 4 material, they've won a few games since then so its all gone quiet, no such upturn in fortunes for Widnes, so that's still on going.
Anybody else that's b1tching about Wakey are either-

A. In the lower leagues and b1tch about everything SL.
B. A club wanting to up the cap and buy success.
C. Arrogant.

Vastman in particular is obsessed with Bradford and we even have mods at it.

While I believe that Wakeys attendance average is far too poor both for SL & for the standard & brand of RL they are playing currently, I also believe there are far less deserving Clubs than WT at the moment.

Wakeys ground is one of the worst facilities in modern RL at both SL & Championship level, however it didn't stop me enjoying the rugby.

Have I ever had a pop at Wakey attendances ?
Yes !
Do I believe attendances at RL grounds are important ?
Yes !
Do I believe stadium facilities are important ?
Yes !

I would like to see all SL Clubs be set minimum standards of 6k average gates & minimum stadium standards, let's say for arguments sake 6k average by 2022 or year 3 for a newly promoted SL Club & stadium standards by 2025 given the current economic climate. These standards should be fixed to prevent an unfair Salford/Wakey/Cas type situation happening again & stop Clubs resting on their central funding while making no firm commitment to raising standards.

For balance I will say this. I like the way Wakefield have built on the on field performance steadily & seem to have a good plan & good recruitment, as a Leigh fan I would happily take regular 7 to 9 finishes until established & I think Wakefield have the ability as a Club to push on, do they have the drive to ? only time will tell.

I don't mind Carter, despite him voting in a self protectionist manner re the future structure, he seems to be quite stable & have a long term strategy for WT.

In summary, while WT are not ripping it in SL I would rather lose a Salford, Hudds or Widnes as though 4k gates are not great for Wakey at least the Club & it's fans show promise whereas the others show abject apathy & a disengagement.

Although we would all love to see RL played the length and breadth of the country in packed stadia and for RL to be the no 1 sport in the UK, sadly, this is never going to happen.

Supporters of certain clubs love to sneer at certain attendances, I've done it myself from time to time.

Attendances only becam an issue when The RFL "demanded" that SL clubs achieve attendances of 10k which, as time has shown, is not currently realistic for all SL clubs.
Of course, Wigan, Leeds, Wire, Saints and Hull FC have no problem and Cas & KR are not too far behind.
However, the constant bashing of the smaller clubs doesn't help anyone and one of the issues is, even if the clubs with lower attendances were thrown out, just who could they be replace with.
Even Toronto, with all the hype, are nowhere near being able to achieve this mystical number and of the rest, there is only Bradford who could get close (assuming that the masses from the "Bullmania" days actually want to re-engage with the club should they make it back to the top flight.
As a sport, of course "we" should always be looking to improve standards, across the board, from players, officials, facilities and match day experience etc but, we should be focusing on the "product", the game of Rugby League, instead of looking for gimmicks.
Most folk that have a go at Trinity are envious of the things that the club has got right, from the Chairman, Coach, squad and their league standing.
Belle Vue, for all it's faults (and there are a few), is still a great place to watch a game of Rugby League.
It still has an excellent playing surface, which is full size, with no turned up corners and at some point, everyone hopes & expects either a move or redevelopment to take place, something that, with a little more political will, would have already happened.

On the stadium front, yes before Carter you could say we hardly tried to push matters. However we are now trying our damndest to get what we were promised (cue a certain Cas fan) and are fighting against both a corrupt council and a corrupt landlord.

It would be a good option for our club if we could get the RFL to buy us a ground and rent us it back at a peppercorn rent, then again that would seem a little corrupt under the `equal treatment` policy
