| i feel that huddersfield would go to the wall id relegated, ken davy might just think thats it
would be a massive shame as plans are already being put in place to improve the squad if staying up with new coach rick stone
also plans have been unveiled recently to build a purpose built training centre for the club and community, this could also go under, fingers crossed we stay up from this nightmare season

| I would miss Hull KR the most - great set of fans and bring plenty to the Jungle.
Not too bothered if Hudds went - they bring nothing to the table.
Onto Salford - I would swap them tomorrow with Leigh. Geographically the same. More support, better stadium and above all an owner who knows about the game.

| Lot's of doom mongering about these clubs going to the wall if relegated due to their benefactors pulling out.
Bradford haven't. London haven't.
Why would a businessman like Hudgell, Davy or Koukash allow a club they own to simply go to the wall - isn't it more realistic that if they want out, that they'd sell the club and at least try and recoup something?
Any club that gets relegated would have to cut it's cloth accordingly due to the decrease in revenues it'd suffer, and then rebuild. It may take a few seasons to achieve SL again, depending on the level the benefactor is still willing to underwrite costs, but it would see the club go out of existence.

Didn't say they did.
The point you missed was they haven't "gone to the wall" following relegation.

I did see that part. I also saw the "due to their benefactors pulling out" part and stupidly assumed it was part of the point you were making. My mistake. I can't help but feel though that the person who writes the beginning of your sentences needs to have a conversation with the person who writes the ends of them.

| Well I never thought we were so highly thought of!
Anyone who has any idea of the recent (and long term) history of salford would understand why crowds are currently embarrassingly low, I'm not suggesting they will ever be high but right now is about as low as we've ever been. With any kind of relative success, or even lack of circus we'd probably treble our home gates.
Also all those fans of cas saying we bring nothing, don't forget the money we paid for chase helped your finances at a bad time for you. Same with wakey with Tim Smith.
If we go down we deserve it though. Best team for years yet still get relegated, standard stuff.

What's wrong with flying a plane with a celebratory message over the city? Or were the organisers supposed to avoid that part of East Hull?

That just happened to fly right over the KR ground, just before kick off. But yes I believe you, it wasn't meant to taunt KR at all.

Yes. And NY Jets fans did it to a Patriots training camp last year. There are college football games where it's a miracle if it doesn't happen.

| Got to fear for Salford if they do go, it would be just the excuse that the doctor needs to walk away.
That said, given how deep the disconnection between the fans and the club seems to be, would it be the worst thing for them if the fans have to step in and build the club up again, even be it at a lower level with a prolonged period outside of SL.

Yes it would be: the most common statement on here regarding Salford (apart from the lie we do not develop young players) is that we have very few fans. It follows we have a small population from which the persons with sufficient wealth would appear.
(Cue comments telling supporters to put in a £1000 each; as usual we're generous with other people's money.)
There's a very good discussion on fan funded clubs here:
www.totalrl.com/forums/index.php ... 960&page=3
If the good Doctor walks, or if any businessman walks, that club is probably toast.

I think you are right.
If the other solutions were so easy to achieve, surely Mr Koukash would never have been needed a few years ago.
Of course, everything is easier in hindsight but, Salfords situation would have been better served had Dr K embraced the sport, instead of
being so abrasive from the start.
I know that when Trinity visited the new ground for the first time, not long after he had taken over, there was a good buzz about the place and lots of families with kids were at the game with a decent crowd (around 7000) and Salford won.
Something changed within a couple of months and you crowds dropped back to 3500ish.
Was this down to the accesibility of the ground or drop in form ?
The work done up to that point had been excellent.
Also, how do Sale cope with the access issues and are their crowds much better and if so, why ?

| I wouldn't want to swap a Yorkshire team for a Lancashire team (Leigh) so I'd have to say Salford.
There are a host of reasons to back up my reasons why but the most selfish one is that Salford probably has the worst parking situation of any club in SL. It really puts me off wanting to go there.
