| For those that are interested in how little old Salford can pull off a deal like this...
@mart_vickers: For those who don't know .....Just teamed up with North Americas second biggest sports retail companies, an exclusive deal in the sport. One of the attractions to our club was the similarities between UA's origins in Baltimore and Salford. And the profile the Club had since Marwan's takeover. As part of the deal UA will actively work with our schools, college and junior clubs in our proud City Salford. UA are creating a new office base in the north west and will be a very active partner in our fan and community activities.

Do you know what brisbanes Nike deal is worth? Their jersey sponsorships are worth close to $3million a year.'"
£1,600,000 for a club with a 35,000 home average and national tv coverage including multiple games on FTA is entirely believable.
£1,000,000 for a club with 50,000 home fans ALL YEAR and less than 800,000 tv viewers for their games on pay tv is on the other hand, completely unbelievable.
Fair play to marwan, but if this deal was worth a million I think we'd have more than a passing comment in a RL paper.

No harm to you butcher, but if you believe in the tooth fairy than maybe a million quid sounds plausible to you.

It's okay, mate.
I've never seen you change your stance whether right or often wrong. I certainly didn't expect you to change it on this subject either.
I'm sure that says a lot about you actually...

| The deal probably is worth around £1m but over several years. I'd be very surprised if it was £1m a year considering Leeds main sponsorship with Leeds Building Society is (IIRC) approx £500k per year.
Either way we can't complain that RL never publicises itself and then when it does complain and whinge about the size of the deal.

I think it definitely is. I know Salford fans will probably be against it (I probably would be too if it were my club) but I think it might be for the best in the long run.

France leave Puma for Errea. Unsurprising choice given their Perpignan connection.

If you took the badge off it, it would look more like a kit designed for Scotland.

If it does then those people really need to grow up.
I don't like the kit that much, but it's got nothing to do with whether it looks similar to another clubs shirt.
Personally I though the World Cup all white one was pretty good.

Not a fan of that actually.
It's too close to a Wigan shirt. It needs to be neutral or the RL risk fewer sales.

I can't see any Saints fans wearing that. Suggesting they need to "grow up" is ridiculous.

| I'd wear that England top more than an Arsenal fan would wear an England shirt.
Besides, it looks more like Leigh.
The England RL shirt needs to be iconic. As iconic as an RL shirt. Either with hoops or Vee. Not something bland (all white) or tacky (having a St George flag plastered over it). The GB shirt was PERFECT - FLAWLESS in this regard.
If hoops are the way forward, then that's fine with me. Historically - there are some links with it (didn't England commemorate an anniversary a few years ago wearing the same top?).

No, actually you're right. Fully grown adults shouldn't buy the shirt of their nation because it bears a passing resemblance at a distance to a non-existent shirt of a rival team.
Yeah, I'm the one who's ridiculous.
