| Amusing how saints fans are rubbishing our crowd today, remember the last game at knowsley road? Play off final qualifier against huddersfield, all pay,the crowd was 6000 with 2000 from huddersfield.
Cup games and play off games are poorly attended, with other factors added in we were never going to get a big crowd, to compare the leigh and fev crowds is pathetic, both were friday nights and boosted by big away followings and also big games for those clubs, london at home is never a big game for anyone.

| I didn't go today, but I'm a season ticket holder
Maybe if we'd been playing Saints, Leeds, Wire or Wigan is have gone to watch.
But against London to either watch is rack up points OR play so abysmally I wish I'd stayed at home - and pay £15 for the privilege, no thanks, not when I can watch two games on TV
But ill be there on Friday night, with 5 others who didn't go today either.
The way people watch games has changed, the majority of fans are season ticket holders now and so if clubs want to get more folks in for cup games, they need to either drop the price of cup games OR include them in season ticket costs
As has been pointed out Widnes v Saints only got 500 more last round, so this isn't a problem solely of Huddersfield
How many did Wigan Saints get watching? And how many did they get for the corresponding league fixture?
But sure, if people want to take a cheap shot at the giants fine, ignore the real issue.

| I went, and I've never been saddened by a Giants game crowd, and I've seen us play in front of 1,000 for a SL game. We could, and should, have got 5,000+, irrespective of the Premier League, time, weather or whatever. We are 160 from Wembley.
But we target kids too much, under 6's that naturally, won't come to 6.00 Sunday games - If we spread out our marketing, we'd get bigger crowds. Its £7 for Students on Friday, but who knows about that? No-one.

The sport is a joke, interesting discussion on GMR after the soccer refn BWFC and P&R, about killing the dream and losing the soul - just what RL is doing with the franchise nonsense. See the RU Championship play offs were live again today.

| Forget the away fans excuse but if this was a more attractive fixture like Leeds, Saints, Wigan, Warrington, Catalan, Bradford, Hull then we would of brought more home fans. The facts are that ok we had bad crowd today but we are still one of the best teams in the league for growing our support each year.

so lets say if davey decides next season he will return season pass to full price, how many of these fans would still buy them? i'd bet you'd lose a couple of thousand off that growing support!

He can make what he wants of it, out of interest what crowd did your club draw for this round of the cup?
Ken Davey is a salesman and he knows you can't sell a dead donkey, and frankly thats what this game was. If it had been a game against any of the other clubs it would have been better attended (and again, Widnes v Stains only got 500 more)
And I'd suggest Anyone v London in that timeslot would have struggled to get bums on seats
But let's not have facts get in the way of a "bash the Huddersfield attendance" thread, especially since its been a while since we could have one of them
Therell be a good crowd on Friday night and a good crowd for the semi

| If this attendance had been at Broncos then people would have been calling for them to be thrown out the comp & that the club/fans don't deserve to be in the comp. (similar to others with Broncos & SL based merely on attendances..idiots)
Frankly the bullsheet excuses being bandied around are pathetic, you either support your club & rugby league or you don't?
Who gives a flying one about the soccer, watch the highlights on MoTD FFS!
The suggestion that all other clubs in SL would have got that few is utterly ridiculous..
So, Huddersfiled AND your stay away fans you ARE a fooking disgrace to the sport & sully the name of the Challange Cup, I hope you get knocked out in the semis because you will embaress the sport further if you bring along your few thousand fans to Wembley....

God I hate this cliche. It's become a favourite on here. Awful.
The problem is more to do with the loss of pull for the challenge cup rather than any big problem with Huddersfield. Their ave crowds stand up well against others considering where they were 10 years ago. I do fear for their future though. When KD hangs up his wallet you will see Halifax's history repeated in Huddersfield. Same goes for other sugar daddy clubs. But then that's sport the world over isn't it? No biggie.

| This 'it's the fans fault' response is totally useless. If you own a pub and it's empty every night, then saying 'it's the drinker's fault' won't keep you in business.
There's reasons people do and don't go. Lots of reasons, some of them complex. There's a real sense to me that the RFL spends too much time cheerleading for itself than getting to the bottom of the mounting problems, particularly around the CC.
Most important of all is to talk to, in this order:
A) people who go to some games but not all, and measure (instead of speculating) why they missed the ones they missed.
B) people who have an SL team in their town but don't go.
C) people who express an interest in RL but don't live near a big club and never go.
FWIW ( not exactly speculating, but equally invalid being a survey of one, me ) I'm in group A, and I don't bother with games I expect ( correctly or not ) to be uncompetitive. Bad fan? Fine, blame me. Make yourself feel better, but it won't increase attendances.
Wood has to go now. We need leadership, not self-marketeeers.

| A truly shocking attendance, and one that highlights a pretty low hardcore fanbase for the Giants. When the time comes they aint challenging at the top that figure will return to the norm.

Don't Giants fans already enjoy some of the cheapest season tickets in the whole division? And you want cup games throwing in as well? Maybe Mr Davy could throw in some free booze and hookers, just to round off the experience?
£15 for a cup quarter final in one of the game's best stadiums is not remotely unreasonable.
