| Quote ="Dave Lister"I love it, you have an opinion that neither Hull FC or Hull KR are doing that well with ball in hand, as was evidenced during a woeful first half, you then comment that Hull FC have actually been decent on other occasions this year, and you still get some irate muppet "finding you out" with a long detailed post full of waffle
'"
But you have not seen hull play this year so how can yoy state that? Simple question. I have watched every minute of our games and was simply pointing out your failings. As for others. Oyr completion rate was far better than many teams today. Basic football which wears teams down. Leeds have excelled at it for a decade or more. Rather that than error strewn play like Wire for example

Aye, but it was a very long time in coming, maybe my expectations were simply too high? My issue wasn't so much the lack of scoring, but the fact it came about from some really pretty terrible last tackle options or pushing passes when it wasn't needed (I was kind of hoping to see something a bit better than that since I've watched it at Warrington so far season )

| I must admit, i thought it was one of the 'tamest' Hull derbies I have ever seen.
Then again Sts V Wigan wasn't the 'blood and thunder' you would come to expect either.

I noticed that. There wasn't much aggression on show this year. I blame it on Clint Newton's departure, he was a great pantomime villain who usually got things fired up.

Possibly because we both have coaches now that realise that the game isn't the be all and end all, that there's more to the season than the 2 (or 3) derbies.

| I enjoyed it, the Hull forwards looked like they could have waited for a week for The KR forwards to roll over into submission.

I actually liked the guy, even though he was always trying to wind us Hull fans up.

You must have a very short memory. Seem to remember many Saints and Wigan derbys (Cardiff ring a bell?) that were over almost before they began. Now they were like watching paint dry.

| Surprising given there were 14 players from Hull on the field, you'd have thought there would have been a bit more passion in the game. I blame Aussie coaches!

| Why can't a controlled, focused side be passionate. Uk RL fans need to stop mistaking emotion for passion.

I agree, there was plenty of passion on show. Just need to look at the try celebrations to see what it meant to the players.
What it didn't have is the usual aggression and niggling. Probably a good thing in my book, I'd rather see a focussed, committed display then a scrappy, niggly, aggressive affair.
