With a huge and aggressive marketing campaign along with a mass freebie giveaway for kids/schools, the double header may attract 35,000 to 40,000 tops.

The days of attracting substantial attendances for internationals at places like Wembley, Old Trafford and Elland Road are long gone. That occurred in pre-SL days when we had proper international tours. Interest was built up over a period of time as fans got to see the Kangaroos play fixtures against the club sides leading up to Test Matches against GB.

These days, internationals are tagged on to the end of domestic seasons as an afterthought. They lack the gravitas and importance they once had.

I won't be attending. I have little to no interest these days. I've got no affinity whatsoever with the historically insignificant England RL brand. And I cringe at the inclusion of a joke RL team like Wales. I was brought up on proper tours of historical significance, Ashes tours, Kangaroo tours, tours to NZ and a Test against PNG which involved Great Britain!

Thanks to SL which has all but killed international RL, GB hasn't been involved in a proper tour to Australia for a 3-Test series since 1992, or to NZ since the same year. There was one half-d tour to NZ in 1996 when half the team was sent back home early. The last Kangaroo tour over here was in 1994.

The only positive to emerge in recent times is the emergence of New Zealand as an international force who have challenged Australian dominance in one-off fixtures and defeated them in 3 out of the last 4 finals, though notably that's on the back of all their players being products of the Australian system.

We OTOH have gone backwards since SL.

Wake me up for the Four Nations Final between Australia and New Zealand.

I may attend that game.

Aren't those 'Club Wembley' tickets, so not sold to the general public, but already sold as 'season tickets' for the ground.

A free ticket for ALLHarlequins RL season ticket holders or a promo whereby if you buy tickets for Quins next two games you get a free ticket to the double header. They deserve a reward and it would be a good way of marketing Quins and RL in London. Something similar for the Skolars although i know less about how best to market that,

Maybe even ALL the amteur clubs in the M25 a buy a quins ticket and get an international ticket free ( preferably all in one block so that quins can use it for marketing).

You could argue that Welsh fans deserve a reward for the way the Celtic /Crusaders farce panned out.

Or Leeds fans for having the worst coach in SL.

As I've said many times it's no ones business where I live. And I have said many times I am a 'nomad' supporter. I don't follow any side in particular. I go to matches as and when. I go to whichever game sounds good.

Excellent idea.

Playing international matches in London really helps the profile of the game. A double header should go a long way towards getting a full house. Let's hope the RFL and clubs support this with ticket distribution and travel arrangements (charter a train or two from Mcr and Leeds?).

Needs to be promoted in Ldn to the Aussies and Kiwis also.

90,000 tickets.....should get 20,000 ANZACS so 70,000 from the 13 UK based SL clubs......5k each. Quins, Salford may struggle, but the rest should easily do it....pay the clubs commission on ticket sales, £20 a pop, no problem.....

........and make sure HKA fans get to sit with their aussie mates

The Aus/NZ game a couple of seasons back at the Stoop didnt get the full house you would have expected. Maybe a bigger marketing push around Shepherds Bush is required

Yep.....if the RFL are prepared to spend a few quid....marketing in TNT magazine etc......can be done.



It is.....it will need the clubs to get involved, organise coaches etc.....but it can be done!
