What Hull KR are doing has been done by many a club, I remember Hull FC doing it with Sid Domic and plenty other teams do it. It has only gained attention because it involves Willie Mason.

the concept of having clubs de-registering and registering players as they see fit is completely different and brings the integrity of the game and its salary cap into question.

The club obviously know more than they are willing to let on right now and for a club to de-register their best player in the knowledge that it would mean him being a free agent must have done so very cautiously.

Wrong. The [ionly[/i way to de-register a player is to terminate his contract. This has also been confirmed by the RFL.

As I understand it, as soon as he plays one game his entire salary counts.
