There is so much wrong with this statement

1 NO buisnessman would chuck 6 figures at anything if the main outcome is money down the drain this is a fact!

2 Oh wait if i blow loads of cash just so my team is live at wembley get real the viewing figures are nowhere near what football get even if they did it for advertisment why not sponsor them?

People on about widnes and crusaders there is a massive diffrence between these 2 and wakey

Widnes- very long history,decent fan base which will only grow once the club comes up into sl and a decent stadium

Crusaders- Moved closer to the north (of england) fan base can only grow being the only team in wales (not sure but think crowds gone up since moving grounds)

Wakefield- I'm going to be blunt here just downhill every season nothing to offer the ground is a dump/falling apart and the fan base wont be growing with every other yorkshire team doing better than them, to sum it up lost cause they need to go down rebuild and take it from there

Directors of most pro RL clubs put money into the club, not take it out.

Do you think people who own racehorses do it to make a profit? Or because they enjoy racing?

I know a couple of dozen people who are millionaires. Some of them invest all of their money sensibly in profit-making ventures, but some do have expensive hobbies - racing cars, yachts, a collection of 17th century science books. Not sure why anyone would take up an RL club as a hobby, given the amount of stick you get, but people like Ken Davy, Steve O'Connor or John Wilkinson obviously enjoy it.

There's a world of difference between just having your company's name on the jersey and being the owner of the club proudly walking out onto the pitch, having appointed the coach, been involved with signing the players etc.

Same could be said of Probiz sponsoring Cas its not a big club or even a mediocre one so why should they throw money at a club like that?

Cas: make a profit, getting a new stadium overlooking the M62, next door to Xscape and are one of the best run clubs in the league. Not a big club but far, far above mediocre.

You are aware that only two SL clubs are not loss-making, aren't you? And yours isn't one of them.

Didn't 3 clubs make a profit last year? still not enough teams by a long distance though.

As are many clubs, except some are propped up by sugar daddies. A few clubs have debts that make ours look minute, but they have rich backers prepared to underwrite them. And that is the only difference. It looks like we'll have one too. Not ideal, but it's the way the sport is.

Had Ted Richardson stayed in charge then alot that has been said on here would be fair comment. The fact is, it is more than likely that new owners will bring some welcome business skillls to the table and the new Wakefield will be a new and improved version that will hopefully give us wakey fans something to be proud of again and make us a much more viable SL proposition.

Our ills are down to bad management plain and simple. Lets give the new owners a chance rather than tar the club with a bad name because of what the inept BOD have done

Your ills are down to not having enough money to pay the wages and bills , quite simply if you had only spent the money earned you would have been relegated to the Championship probably years ago , instead you have had SL to watch

Sad day, I think this is the end of their Super league hopes however I hope someone takes them on with the intention of building them up again from the ground up, although you'd have to say if they go down they're probably behind clubs like Halifax and Leigh for a franchise again.

Given that Leeds United has traditionally tended to get its fan base from South Leeds and the surrounding area, rather than North Leeds, Wakefield should arguably have been a bigger beneficiary of Leeds United's problems. You see a lot more LUFC shirts at Belle Vue and the Jungle than you do at Headingley.
