| Quote ="SmokeyTA"I hadnt suggested you had, notice the tense.
I just wanted to be clear that you will not, in any way, positive or negative, lump the Celtic Crusaders, Crusaders and 'W Crusaders' together as one club, following your logic they are three completely distinct and separate clubs and that you wouldnt wish to put any of the positives or negatives of any one of the clubs onto the other.
Just to make sure you are being consistent for once.
Id also ask, what has stopped Hull KR 'plugging the gap' with converted 16/17/18 year old union players? If Crusaders can do it, why couldnt HKR?'"
Rovers have several Union converts currently coming through our youth structure. The most notable at the minute being Sam Latus who broke into the first team this season after making his Rugby League debut in 2008 when Rovers re-formed our Academy side.

| Starbug's right.
The Wcrusaders have done NOTHING. They've not played a game.
CrusadersRL fulfilled a season's fixtures. Nothing more.
CELTIC Crusaders and South Wales Scorpions developed Welsh players over a number of years, despite the incompetence of Leighton Samule.
Wcrusaders MAY develop a player from North Wales one day, from one of the numerous N Wales RL sides like ...... um ....... and er, you know ........ thingy. But they've developed NOTHING yet and I fear that day is decades hence.

| Quote ="SmokeyTA" Dan Brotherton are examples of clubs going out, finding an RU player and bringing him to RL. It is to be seen if they are good enough, but they are still doing it'"
Brotherton was a Northampton RL player who had also played RU (as has everyone in Northamptonshire) in the past. He took himself to St Helens on the back of his RL performances.

Therefore they should not be judged on it , their purpose is to salvage something from the mess that is the Celtic Crusaders , they need to survive financially and give RL a better profile in Wales , nothing more , if they can achieve that they will be considered a success

The answer is, i dont know which personnel have been involved in all three incarnations of Crusaders. Much less do i care or think it relevant to the situation

If that is the case, good on them. Though one player playing one game does not a success make.

Thats a very strange way of trying to take away from the good work St's have done in this respect.

it is indeed, your attempts to build straw men, attack them, then confuse yourself are some of your most obvious.
But its still funny to see you slink away, unable to get even the basics of your argument right and have to reappear here hiding behind starbug. Its sweet in a way

I'm not trying to take away from any work St Helens or anyone else has done. Just correct any misconceptions about Dan Brotherton's route into rugby league.

| Quote ="crucrucrusaders"At the moment stands at 10. I was very surprised to find that teams such as Hull KR that have way over 100 years on our fledgling club in a rugby league heartland have as many as 9 of their own.
I find that a lot more shocking than a team preparing for their 3rd year in Super League and only their 6th year in rugby league altogether from a non traditional rugby league area.
Can we just reply with 'look at Rovers' every time somebody has a go at our Aussie Army from now on?'"
excellent point
