Not particularly funny though is it. Especially seen as it will have been a waste of time, as minus a hundred and we've still well beaten our 10,000 target and we'll have more people who buy yet didn't pledge.
I've been through my comments re McGuire and apologised. I accept many people won't accept my apology, you may be one of them, but it doesn't bother me tbh. I may be a ba$tard, but you're a childish one!

| I am guessing the board have evaluated that the amount of revenue at the reduced price is covered by the anticipated increase in numbers(or rather covers the anticipated fall had they done nothing). With the extra sales of add-ons like beer and shirts and associated increase in advertising etc they end up well above what they might have had. So in the short-term this looks very good.
This is not however a sustainable way to run a business for longterm stability. Going back 10 years, Bradford were getting these crowds paying full price and somehow managed to get themselves less well off.
Once people become accustomed to paying next to nothing, its damn hard to get them paying full whack again

A few eeks ago everybody couldn't see us getting 10,000 pledges either.
For all the real pledges (most of the hoaxes have been removed already) they will be chased up by the club - they've entered a contract. And there'll be those (I know 3) who didn't pledge but are now going to buy one at a guaranteed £60.
I'm confident.

| Widnes, you really are a sad boy.
Congratulations to the Bulls. I think its a great idea and one other sides could copy to help relaunch themselves. In the end it doesn't matter how you get spectators through the gates in the short term - the buzz at the game and the sight of a big crowd on TV will do wonders.
I doubt the Bulls will win anything next year, but a turnaround on the field where they are competitive in most games should be enough to keep momentum going, and enable more team-building the following year.

| Great work by the Bulls, I'm not entirely sure I agree that 'AMAZING TIMES are coming for the Bulls in 2011' (whatever happened to 'Bullsforchamps2010'?). Really need to sort out the on field product before they've got the whole package.
Certainly an impressive base to rebuild from though, if they can keep hold of those fans until they're competitive again, they've got a very bright future.
Just need a new ground now

| well done to the bulls for hitting their target a great incentive from them in an attempt to re-build a club thats fallen from the top.
from a business point of view this is a huge gamble,in affect the club has decided that they will take a small gain in money before the season starts and risks getting by on away fans paying at the gate throughout the season, given that quins, catalans, salford and crusaders will bring little or no support some weeks the club will have very little money coming into the club and it will take some very good accounting to balance the books and i hope that those that run the club do have the sence to hold some money back for when times are hard.
i hope it works out and i guess time will tell.

| With gate income under a million it will require a lot of hard work to cover the shortfall from other streams, but the increased gate and buzz would at least give them a chance.

Because he is a cretin!
I live 30 miles from Bradford but will be buying two tickets, even if it's only for when they don't clash with the Dons. It's a bargain and anything which increases crowds at any RL ground must be a good thing

| Best thing is, for all the fakes that have been posted, there will be a new season ticket holder that now wants a ticket at £60. I can see them adding another 1000 to that total easily considering the tickets are only £60.
Well done Bradford, I never thought you would hit 10,000. Congrats.
oh and P.S, widness, you posted on a public forum declaring what you did. Do you honestly believe that there are no ways of tracking you? ha ha, what a dumbass. Your I.P address is visible to all moderators to start lol

Good one for your first comment. I think you are probably representitive of most decent RL fans across the game. Most folk will ignore the odd Rhino (rarely Loiner) fekkwit's lame attempts to pee on the bonfire.
Re the "huge gamble" though - It WAS in that it might not have come off. But it HAS come off, and so now I submit its really no gamble at all any more? Gate receipts are the smaller part of club income. The club will generate considerably more money that it was likely to do otherwise. The larger part of income - SKY money, RFL money, sponsorship - is already known at the start of the year. Gameday receipts will be considerably higher than they would other wise be since there will be more people in the ground (even allowing for those season ticket holders who nevertheless pick their games). All ways round, compared to doing nothing this has to be a massive financial step forward for the club.
The REAL whole point of this exercise was that the club realised that season ticket sales would reduce sighnificantly this year if nothing was done, and that the proportion of "walk-ins" would rise substantially as more and more people picked their games to go to (if any). At a stroke - and its a masterstroke - they have not just arrested that decline, but they have turned thousands of otherwise walk-ins (quite apart from otherwise-absentees) into season ticket holders. And put a load on what would otherwise have been the gates. And all at a cost of giving the loyal fans who would have still bought season tickets next year regardless (me and maybe 3,500 others?) a discount of maybe averaging around 50-60% on what they would otherwise have paid. And quite a few of us have in turn pledged for (or secured pledges for) additional family members or friends as a result, so not really any loss at all in many cases. The maths make complete sense, especially when - as we suspect - we may have also have generated new external income conditional upon hitting the target.
It will not take any "very good accounting " (and I speak as one who has been in that business for many years) - in fact the accountants' jobs will be much easier since we have more cash up front and much more certainty. And I can assure you the club's financial control is as effective as any club's anywhere (it has had to be!). All clubs are anyway well used to receiving much of their income early, and husbanding their cash over the season accordingly.
And we now have a huge buzz now around the club.#
Oh, and gate income under a million? Consider:
1. Main Stand prices (£99 min)
2. Coral stand/premier club etc prices
3. Away speccies
4. Walk-ins
5. Season tickets issued after the early bird deadline (prices up 50%-100%)
etc.

| Gaqte receipts are usually over a 1/3rd of total income so I wouldn't say they are a smaller part of a clubs income. Most clubs will be generating over a million pound in gate receipts. Bulls won't be far off that but could be a couple of hundred grand under, certainly do able to make up with good merchandise sales and as you say more of a buzz leading to more corporates wanting boxes etc.
