| Paul Gallen was very good and is arguably the best running around. Won't get much arguement from me. It's a three horse race from where I sit. Thaiday, Ellis and Gallen.

| England have the potential for a wonderful pack with the likes of Wilkin, O'Loughlin, Ellis, Morley, Burgess, Heigho (if he chooses to), Graham, etc.

Gallen is as wide as he is tall.
Easily the best forward in the NRL.

| engand certainly have the forwards to match australia.
in ellis and burgess they have players who have starred against the best the nrl can offer
throw in morley whose done it here before and graham thats the basis of an excellent forward pack
ellis and burgess have nothing to fear from aussie players, they matched or bettered them over a 26 week nrl season

| I've got no problems over those four it's off the bench and at hooker I worry.
Competitive games and strong attendences are my hopes.
And why have aus picked 3 hookers and gidley? A bit odd when smith can do the 80.

| Roby is an excellent player at hooker.
The others I mentioned in the VT thread are also high quality.

Feel free to join me on this planet any time you like.
England/GB have NEVER EVER had better forwards than the Kangaroos.
Ever.
Honestly... I cant believe people seriously think that!

Thats ok.
Forums are all about exchanging views.
If you (and others) choose to overlook the fact that Englands pack has never made any impression on Australias in any major tournament since god alone only knows when then fine.

It's just that everyone seems to go on about how fantastic Englands pack are and how they will power over the Australians like a fully armed battlegroup of German Tiger tanks rolling through Poland in 1939....yet when it comes to it... they get battered
I've never understood why people say it
It's truly baffling!!

That's clearly not true.
Even in my time of watching RL (the last 25 years or so) , there have been a number of times when Eng/GB had the better pack .......... the late 80's and early 90's when you had the likes of Goodway, Ward, Hanley, Platt for example.

A bit like why NSW can't compete with Queensland - it all about the forwards - not, NSW have Weyman, Bird, Gallen, Whatmough, Perry, Hindmarsh, Waterhouse etc but can't get anywhere near Queensland - would not have anything to do with Lockyear, Thurston, Slater, Inglis, Folau and Boyd would it?
Knew you lacked any understanding of the game your post above say all you need to know.
Get back behind the bar

Queensland have a far better team than NSW across the board.
Keep thinking your side has the sort of pack that a team of special forces soldiers led by Chuck Norris couldn't stop and leave the reality stuff to people who know what they are talking about

Moron post 1000 from the resident joker...
1958 and 1962 saw better British packs.
The 1970s saw British forwards dominate both the northern and southern hemisphere competitions - Britain lacked success after the mid 1970s solely because of the migration of forwards to Australia.
The 1920-1950 run of GB has also been recently pointed to.
The English/GB forwards from 1910 on were generally excellent.
As alluded to, the early 1990s packs from Britain were also of very high quality (consider the 1990 series and the 1992 series).
That covers most of the 20th Century...
