| Well at least it is rugby--not footy which seems to encompass three sports in Australia

| All Eliss offers to the NRL is to provide a Buzz Lightyear lookalike for the kids to laugh and point at.
He is not fit to lace the mighty Paul Gallens boots.

You're boring and it's about time you grew up and realised that he's one of the better players in the NRL and would walk into the NSW team, if he could play for them.

Barry McKenzie is as Australian as a packet of Arnotts Scotch fingers coated in Vegemite.
Eliss is very average compared to such legends as the mighty Gallen

He did, but being a typical Leeds fan you were too busy looking for the next big thing even though you already had it. Very sad.

Gallen - can't even make it into a very poor NSW side - that says all you need to know about one of the dirtiest players in the NRL.
The fact the press are obsessed with the size of his legs rather the quality of his rugby say much about the quality of his rugby.
One thing is for sure Gallen is not in Greg Bird's league or Nathan Hindmarsh let alone those selected for NSW

| Quote ="Dico"tbh i rate ablett as a good player but i dont see what he would offer England that we don't already have. I rate Westwood at club level, he's been PHENOMINAL for us at times but compared to the worlds greats no matter how hard that guys trains, he's just not got it the same way Ablett, Langley et al haven't.
'"
Ablett is a wierd one, he looks like a pure 2nd rower, and has the build for it, He looks like he should be the next Ellis, big runs, outstanding defence, great workrate. But he really isnt that type of player, he has simply worked hard enough to do a good job like that. He has very good hands, a good brain and runs good lines.
He is kicking on now and i think id he carries on how he is we will make that leap Westwood and Langley never did

| Whilst were discussing back rowers I'd just like point out 2 at my own club. Fitzgibbon and Manu. Both have been outstanding this year IMO.

By the size of his hindquarters I reckon he should be in the front row not the second. That way he could change the emphasis in his gym work to suit and really improve.

| Ablett could develop into a very good second row. Back row is the one area where England have some real talent and strength in depth. If Ellis and Burgess are fit I'd start with them in the second row. Burgess would be wasted at prop IMO, and Graham/Morley/Peacock can all do a reasonable job there.
I rate O'Loughlin as well. I've said before I think his style of play translates well to internationals. He's not going to try to be a major ball handler for England, which is a good thing. That approach hasn't worked for years and I doubt it ever will again.
