| Mother England XIII
VS
Colonies XIII
AKA - England vs imports but dress it up a wee bit.
Then again it seems a little ridiculous to abandon France and leave them without a big test.

| When SL inevitably splits into two conferences you can have an all stars east v west game yankee style. Would certainly be interesting.
York V Lanc would work if a) it was a tenner a ticket ANYWHERE in the ground, first come first served best seats etc and b) a serious international selection game played in say august

| In 2001 and 2002 the game got over 10,000 for the crowd so higher than the super league average. That is with no marketing and without the teams taking it seriously.
This idea CAN work. People just need to stop comparing it to SOO.

Quote ="Doseymarker"This unfortunately is spot on.
So why not go for a Yorkshire V England (rest of) game instead.
You could play the game for the old yorkshire cup every year.
The other option would be not to have it as an origin series but more as a where your olaying series and include overseas players playing SL.'"

| Lancashire V Yorkshire is perceived as a heartlands game.
When I was watching the Origin game there were numerous references made that the game transcended RL.
There is another rivalry in this country that could be tapped.
We could look at THE North V THE South game.
The northerners would be drawn from players born north of the midlands
The southerers from anywhere south so you can have all the Londoners, south wales, French and all the imports
For example
1 Brent Webb
2 Amos Roberts
3 Matt King
4 Tony Clubb
5 Pat Richards
6 Thomas Bosc
7 Matt Orford
8 Kylie Leuluai
9 Thomas Leuluai
10 Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook
11 Chris Flannery
12 Louis Anderson
13 Greg Eastwood
14 Tony Puletua
15 Setaimata Sa
16 David Ferriol
17 Danny Buderus
And lots more players besides, better than a game against just the imports.
Plenty of opportunity for stereotype PR.
Gives us a chance to try and stage games further south.
& Dont call it Origin.

| If everyone bought into it then it could work but I think that is highly unlikely. Also I think that Lancashire V Yorkshire matches are a step backwards for the game and its image as it makes us look very parochial.
