| Huddersfield Giants in my view
Full Back 10/10
With Brett Hodgson reigning MOS and talisman we have probably the best FB in the competition his main compewtition being from Greenshields and Webb. The advantage that we have is that we have Cudjoe at back up he seems to be playing well .
Wingers 7/10
Probably our weakest position. Hodgson occupies one wing and whilst being solid is not spectacular. Cudjoe on the other looks good but with him going to full back we have had to swap players around a bit. Time for on eof the kids to step up and make a mark
Centres 8/10
Whatuira and Lolesi have been excellent this year. Solid in defence and exciting in attack. However it is Lawrence he has caught the eye with his defensive play. I still compare him to Gary Connolly in defence. If he can develop the attacking skills will really kick on.
Half Backs 7/10
Brown has been outstanding at 6. taking on the line and improving his kicking no end. Robinson is playing well but looks more like a hooker at 6, quick braks, runs from Dummy half rather than an organising creative no 7. Grix has provided good cover. Brough would improve this position no end.
Props 8.5/10
Losing Mason at the start of the season had us all in a state of panic. We only had 4 props and one was a pumped up second row. But Larne Patrick has been in stunning form. 3 tries in 5 games is a good strike rate. We have Eorl and Griffin which give us plenty of grunt and go forward. My only concern is if we get a few more injuries.
Hooker 9.5/10
I would argue Lunt has been the best hooker so far in SL. With faiumu, Drew and Robinson providing back up we have a variety of styles, skills and back up in this position.
Second Row/Loose Forward 9/10
Gilmour and Fa alogo have been outstanding and seem to be getting better every game. Add in faiumu and Aspinwall we have 4 players who all have made an impact this year. If that is strong enough how will Steven Wild and Danny Kirmond get back in the team.
Squad Depth
We genuinely have a superb squad this year. Not indavidually great players but all of whom play as a team and do not provide a weak link. Never have i seen a Giants team with as much quality in the squad. At the begining of the season we have had Hodgson, Mason, Drew, Wild and Kirmond out injured. 5 first team players yet we have hardly missed them in fact of those only Hodgson would be likely to come back into the team straight away. Competition for places should kep all players on their toes.
Coach 10/10 the best in Sl at the minute.
Chairman 10/10 Ken Davy. had a vision had a plan and is now making it pay.

| Quote ="Ewwenorfolk"Full Back
9/10
Reardon, Halley, Kearney, Platt & Sykes can all do a decent job there.
Wing
2/10
Sheriffe can be good, but is error-prone, Reardon needs to learn the positioning, then we only have Platt & Crookes for cover
Centre
3/10
Sykes & Nero aren't the best, but can be good on their day. Platt, Menzies & Crookes as back up.
Stand-off
7/10
Kearney is quality from what we've seen so far and Sykes & Menzies offer good back-up
Scrum-half
10/10
Best in the league backed up by Kearney, L'Estrange & Sykes
Prop
9/10
Lynch & Scruton are quality, Hall, Kopzcak, Sculthorpe are solid and two Burgess's and Crossley & Lilycrop coming through.
Second row
8/10
Langley is one of the best in the competition, as is Hall. Good youngsters coming through (Whitehead, Tate, Olbison) Shame we have Worrincy though
Loose
7.5/10
Menzies has experience and that touch of class, whilst James Donaldson is a star in the making.
Hooker
8/10
L'Estrange is solid, and is a crafty bugger at the ptb. Godwin is one of the best at running at tired defences and giving a lift to the pack. O'Brien & Horton to back them up.'"

Full Back - 4/10 - McGoldrick's positioning and ability to read the attack is about on par with a blind man, but contributes a fair bit to attack. Thompson & Dixon are probably the only backups now Owen is out injured.
Wing - 6/10 - Dixon is one of the best in the league at fielding cross field kicks, Wainwright gives 100% and wins a LOT of penalties, Ainscough if his loan is extended provides natural pace and a very exciting attacking player. Thompson is a back up again here.
Centre - 8/10 - Shenton is England's left centre and has pace to burn, solid in defence, James Evans is strong and very solid in defence. As for back ups, Thompson....again, as well as Widders, Ferres, Clayton, McGoldrick and Dixon.
Stand Off - 9/10 - Rangi Chase is one of the best in the league, and on his day is arguably the most exciting player to watch too, and still only in his early 20's. Back ups here of Thompson....again, Ed Barber, the exciting prospect Ryan Brierley, Dean Widders, Joe Westerman, Ryan McGoldrick and if your name is Terry Matterson, Steve Snitch.
Scrum Half - 4/10 - Brent Sherwin, as good as he is on form, is too injury prone and vastly out of shape, not too much in the way of back ups here, just Chase & McGoldrick.
Prop - 7/10 - Sargent, Huby, Higgins, Jackson, Massey, Walker and Cooper who's in on loan now, plenty of depth and plenty of solid defenders who offer a bit in attack. Snitch can also play here.
Hooker - 5/10 - Hudson is over rated by fans, his distribution is too slow and he doesn't look fit, Netherton doesn't even get picked anymore and the only backups are Chase, Jones and under 20's player Adam Milner.
Second Row - 7/10 - Snitch, Jones, Ferres, Clayton, Holmes, Davies, Widders - solid group of second rowers with plenty of attacking options and some good defensive players too. Cooper and Westerman can also play second row.
Loose Forward - 8/10 - Joe Westerman, the best up and coming loose forward in the country, starting to play like what was promised when he burst on to the scene, looks to be stronger this year, scoring a couple of good trys dragging 3 or 4 defenders with him. Widders, Ferres, Jones, Clayton, Davies can play here, as can Ryan McGoldrick, if your name is Terry Matterson.
Coach - 2/10 - Matterson is the epitome of clueless, the team are one dimensional and if you can get into their faces so they can't pass the ball around, they panic and just throw it anywhere, in 4 years defence has been the weak spot, and it still hasn't improved, he's scared to play the youths and he's managed to fall out with at least one player every year. (Blanch, Dyer, Mason, Brough, Faumuina, Boyle, Netherton this year it seems.)
