| I dont know if anyone has mentioned Shaun Lunt ( although he played towards the end of last season i really expect him to be pushing for honours this year.
A genuine star of the future.
Elliott Hodgson and Alex Brown both have potential and may come on as well but they might end up going on loan to NL1

Good job we have not given him 3 years then, and he has been one of the top 3 centres in super league over the last 2 years.

True but he's been a super player for us and is one of the best centres in superleague.
The clubs will always go for the short term fixes when the incentives to bring through young players aren't huge and people demand success instantly.
I'm just happy that Wigan are trying to time his departure just right by only giving him a years deal with a years option so they can take a look at the progress made by the likes of Pryce, Goulding, Thornley or Marsh who are all candidates to replace him in the long term. These lads are all British and all have potential.

hmm but Matt King was a superstar in the NRL and has been bloody gash at SL level
In fact, we're shipping him to the wing next year to accomodate 2 British centres I assume
It's true though, Chris Hicks has been a decent signing for Wire and yes he's better than Riley/Penny but we've got plenty of youngsters who could do a job in that position, don't understand why he's still here tbh, King's nothing special but I understand why you'd want to keep him.
I'd rather see the kids get a game

| I agree with the Wiganers who suggest Liam Farrell.
Fantastic player, he certainly stands out.

| Carmont is a speed bump and a turnstyle.
If this makes you one of the top 3 centres in SL then I despair.

| At Saints, I'm very interested to see if the young prop Frodsham can develop into a proper first team player. Highly vaunted at youth level, he recently captained England for one of the younger age groups.
His appearences at first team have been so far unspectacular, he seems to have a big frame, but not enough meat on it - you'd think that would develop as he gets older. He also broke his leg last offseason, which won't have done him much good.
The fact Saints haven't really replaced J Cayless suggests that they may have faith in either him or Emmitt, the other young prop in our squad.

| Scott Taylor has been bigged up to be the next best thing at Rovers, only seen him a handfull of times so I can only comment on the game I saw him play that wa of importance and that was the play-off game versus leeds and he showed up very well for a 17 year old on his debut.

| As mentioned Reece Lynne is tipped for big things. I've heard Barrie Mac bigging him up a few times when we've been on Sky (for what his opinions worth).

Why pick my quote when others are talking Eastmond at Saints and Kallum Watkins at Leeds
Just for the record Ratchford got his chance on the wing last season earlier than expected as our three quarter line was decimated, and he played so well he dislodged Jeremy Smith our overseas signing at six made the position his own and got an England call up, and he's still a kid !!!

Gidley and Senior are better all round players for sure. Nero . Shenton has been pretty good but not as good as Carmont IMO..... Atkins has loads of potentiall but is overated at the moment. Don't forget Carmont was in the dream team in his first season!

| James Donaldson for us without a doubt. Whitehead is not far behind though. Wish we had lots of talent coming through in the three-quarters or halves though. We have 3 potential stars coming through in the back-row.

Nero was excellent for bulls last season, there best back without a doubt.
Shenton if you look on the sl website beats carmont in nearly every stat (though i will admit carmont is not far off in most departments) not forgeting that shenton was the top try scoring centre, and has just had a fantastic performance in the 4 nations (mainly in defence as he was starved of the ball).
Atkins needs to work on passing to his winger but has the power threaten any defencive line.
I dont really pay much attention to the dream team far too many selections are obvioulsy wrong (kevin penny!) and are quite obviously political.

'" I didn't see people talking about Eastmond, that's nonsense. It just winds me up when people put established stars in 'young prospects' threads. Danny McGuire featured in this kind of thread until he was about 24.
FWIW, Ratchford is not a 'kid'. He's older than Sam Burgess, Israel Folau and only a year younger than Greg Inglis FFS.
