| The trouble is that if you went down twickenham high street and stoped a random man/woman they would struugle to name at least 1-3 players. The profile of your club is too small they need to put posters advertising games in shops/pubs to make people aware of you.

your not wrong actually - get a nice little purpose built Rugby League stadium in the heart of London , that may help - there's a great big house thats hardly used next to Green park - knock that down and build it there and call it Buckingham Stadium

| Another thing is a lot of people in London don't even know there are 2 codes of rugby
When i tell them im a rugby fan they go on about the 5 nations score that they caught the end of on the news.
When i say 'no, i watch rugby league' the usual reply i get is
What ? there's more than one type of Rugby?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but level of attendance is not the be all and end all in terms of a place in Super League.
They beat our clubs on distance from another club for one...

| The impression I get is that the Quins need an identity - tagging on to QuinsRU isn't the answer, though I understand completely the reasoning behind their 'merger'. What is the likelihood of them actually getting in to London itself rather than flitting around Middlesex? That said, we all know London is basically a ton of smaller towns all jammed together, so is there a particular area with a strong amateur RL set up (South London Storm springs to mind?) and become representative of that district rather than trying to cover the entire South East?
Charlton Athletic are struggling financially these days, what say a permanent move back to the Valley with a chance to build a real, long-term identity?

| Quote ="Wire_Yed_79"i live in barnet north london
it takes me 2hours to get to the stoop by car in west london
Working for Transport for london i have to say that west london is the worst part by far for traffic congestion and being so close to Heathrow doesn't help either.
part of the reason i think the crowds are low is it just doesn't seem to connect with Londoners and gets little or no exposure
Greater London is about 40 miles N/S
and 50 miles E/W
think how many pro teams in the north west there are in the same radius?
It has no identity, no ground and it's trading off a union name which in itself is detrimental.
Any one that might have been slightly interested in RL but supports say Saracens or London Irish isn't going to support what they now see as a rival team. When they were the broncos they had their own identity.'"

Completely agree - when the Broncos played at Brentford they had that identity and crowds were starting to grow with growth coming from locals

and if I lived in Barnet I would too. When Broncos were at Brentford I went round the North Circular and on most occasions managed it in a largely legal 1hr 30 from Bedford.

| The bottom line is that the major newspapers that people pay to read don't publicise the existence of Quins. The rugby league coverage is miniscule in all the "serious" national newspapers (Telegraph, Times, Guardian, Independent) and nonexistent in the tabloids. And within rugby league coverage Quins get a small slice if anything.
Only when the papers people pay to read, and the major free to air TV stations, start covering Quins, will Londoners start going to the matches.
That is why I think that a second London club, built upon the rising tide of junior participation, may give incentives for the newspapers to cover rugby league in London.

| The Stoop is very easy to get to, by car or rail. From anywhere. And traffic is very rarely a problem. So that's rubbish. Also 2500k for a thurs night game and no away fans? I wasnt that disappointed compared to recent attendances although it clearly needs improving.
