The RFL have said that there will be a team from the Championship added to superleague and as it is unlikely that the competition is going to be expanded. That would mean an existing Superleague club will drop out.
Apart from the idiots that are hoping that the Crusaders will be dropped (which will never happen as we need them to justify the extra cash in the last sky deal)

It was not intended as a dig at Wakefield but they do appear to be the most likely team to be dropped on the basis of finance, stadia, youth, development, fan base and Geographical location in 2012. The same could be said about Cas (i do believe Cas to be a stronger organisation) but surely any financial troubles at Wakefield would make a licence bid for them less likely to succeed and Castleford more likely.

I too want all SL teams to prosper.

That the debt appears to have occured in the club's best season in several years and after a sale of shares would be a concern to most fans.

I had pointed out that wakey players were being touted around other clubs and flagged up 'potential' financial concerns.

This was met with denial, bile and opprobrium - I did not see a single post from you questioning that rude behaviour.

We subsequently see the likes of Rooney loaned to Barrow and now this latest news.

I know several wakey fans and I feel sorry for them and the staff who would suffer if things got worse. However the knuckle draggers who just wish to write insults are of litte concern. (some are so desperate that they go on other forums/threads and insult me, that does cause some glee

However you try to dress it up, its obvious you are very bitter towards wakey and take pleasure from anything negative that happens to wakey, there are clubs i dont like, i wouldnt want them to suffer off the pitch though.

Yes it is bad news for rl that any club is struggling with its tax bills, hopefully the rfl will lend there full support, and we can have it all sorted and put to bed by the start of next season.

Would you be happy for central funds intended to be used for the development and promotion of the sport used instead to pay off the short term debts of a club incapable of living within its means?

Thats not what i said though is it? the rfl have given there support to clubs that are struggling financially in the past ie london as far as we have been made aware that did not involve any transfer of funds rather using there influence and financial skills to help sort the problem out.

Maybe we could get a monkey to run the club,it couldnt do much worse.

I noticed last year that many of you were very selctive as to which games you went to, which i suppose is part of the problem.

How many people have bought STs?

Any more share issues this year? - That was such fun last season.

Possibly because other SL have paid their taxes and not been taken to court.

I can't understand all the gleeful pointing at Wakefield and the board for bad management.

The statement clearly says that they have had a large bill that has been paid per the agreement. They haven't been wound up.

The taxes due will be from previous (pre recession) times so it is something all businesses will be suffering with. In a recession like this if you come through the other side without taking massive loans on and without going under you will be in a strong position.

There are plenty of multimillion pound businesses that have not survived in the last year. Mostly just down to cash flow rather than bad management.

Wakefield have not had great crowds this season and on last and this years form, you can understand why the board would have planned for bigger crowds. They have been let down a bit there - but many fans have cash flow problems too so that's just life.

Fans are even now complaining because we are not breaking the bank to keep Brough but then complain that the club is badly managed when taxes are needing to be paid.

For me it needs support from the Wakefield fans and understanding from the rest but each will make that call for themselves I guess.

Why the rfl make no secret of when they give clubs assistance and advice (why should they) they've done so with more than london over the years ie donny. Nothing wrong with that at all.

Its gonna be either wakefield or cas that go when the next round of franchises are due.
