| Does Brendan Guilfoyle remind anyone else of a cartoon character or something like that?
It's been in the back of my mind ever since he was appointed as our administrators, it's something about the hair, grey sideburns and the thick black glasses....but I just can't quite put my finger on it.
Some people have likened him to the old guy from Up, but I don't think that's who I'm thinking of.
P.S. I know this is a fairly trivial question given the circumstances, but it's starting to annoy me! (even more than the man himself).

| So, last Thursday the RFL played their hand, the day after in comes another mysterious bid, one which isn’t mentioned until today!
These shenanigans must be stretching the Bradford fans patience to the limit.
For gods sake, whoever is the saviour – get on with it .

Only one I can think of is Harry Worth, but that's going back more than a bit!

| It could be Kath H. She may see a bargain there like when she bought Hull. It could be anyone really but I think that Kath H is a pretty decent shout.

I.....and I don't think I was alone in this, posted that he would ride in at the 11th hour like a knight in shining armour and be hailed as the saviour of the club
Quote ="af"Blake Solly says it's not Caisley.'"
When did he say this and to whom? Are there any links to his statement?
If they dig themselves out of this then it will be brilliant for the game, the Bradford Bulls and their fans......but not if Caisley is anywhere near anything to do with the new owners...

You wouldn't be saying that if she was in for Rovers.

I didn't say it was a good idea, I said it could be a decent shout that it's Uncle Kath who is the mystery bidder. And for the record, I wouldn't want her anywhere near my club. The Bradford T&A seems to think its Bradford City FC.

[i"Bradford City football club has tabled a shock eleventh-hour bid for struggling Bradford Bulls...The last-ditch deal, which carries no conditions, was discussed by the Rugby Football League during a “very positive” conference call with its chief executive Nigel Wood, who is in Australia, last night.
After the meeting, the governing body said the offer, which has gazumped a potential buyout by Super League Europe, was the first unconditional offer it had received and talks would continue over the next 48 hours. When approached for comment, Bantams’ joint chairman Julian Rhodes, who has previously spoken about the clubs sharing a ground, refused to confirm it had submitted an offer.
But he revealed the club had been speaking to the RFL and administrator Brendan Guilfoyle about how it could help its struggling neighbour.
“We just wanted to see how we could help to keep the club alive, whether that’s in the Super League or in the Championship,” he said.
“We don’t want to see the club die.” [/i
Unconditional, worth more to creditors then the SLE bid, hard to see at the moment where the inevitable problem lies. Need to wait for more details but its encouraging IMHO.
Maybe one day soon this thread title might actually be true!

| I think many Bradford fans would be happy if Bernie Madoff were to head up a life saving consortium right now.
All they want is to watch their team play out of the Icon that is Odsal, be in S.L in 2013 & get their points deduction reduced for this year.
Come on Nigel make it happen.
BTW, in the middle of all these shenanigans, why is Nige’ in Aus right now?

If you could swan off to Oz on the company's expenses whenever you felt like it, you probably would.

He's there for talks with the new ARL Commission about working more closely for the benefit of the game in both hemispheres and to discuss things like the revival of Lions tours etc

Arlc's chairman has been in England for last two weeks, couldn't he have caught up with him then and saved a trip?
