Jackson Hastings has played 47 NRL games. The only reason he isn’t still playing in the NRL and became available for Salford to sign was due to a fall out off the field.

He is the best half back available to replace Luke Gale in the England squad, we should select players on ability, the fact he is part Australian part English should not come into it.

Well if he is international quality why hasn't he been snapped back up by an NRL side at the end of this season? instead of signing on for longer with Salford.

I personally have no problems with a player getting picked as long as he's got English blood in him, even if it's half. I also don't have any problems with kids that move over here with their parents, therefore making this Country his home and then go on to represent England later on. Or cases such as, where you're living abroad due to your parents' job & you happen to be born at that time, is an exception as well imo. Always held the same opinions whether be that Cricket or RL.

Harsh to leave out Bateman but I feel like he's too small for an international second rower and not skillful enough to play centre. Tomkins would offer more creativity in the halves than Lomax or Connor. Connor misses out on a centre spot because he hasn't been playing there and Gildart just laid on a cracking try in the Grand Final.

This team would get done like a dinner by New Zealand. England desperately needs Catalans bound Samuel Tomkins, Canberra bound John Bateman, Stefan Ratchford, and Sean O'Loughlin if it is to get within 12 points of New Zealand. But even then, playing without Samuel Burgess, getting within 12 points of New Zealand will be a big ask.

As would I behind that dominant pack in the first half. I went but the game was pointless, especially as it wasn't even close to the team that will play v NZ
