| Not sure Clarke would have won a Dally M award if that style of award was run this year. It's based on the best 3 players after each game.
Pretty sure Snyed was the big cheese for Cas at the start of the year and so he may have snaffled some of the votes, off Clarke.
Same for Roby, he would have probably lost points to Walsh early on and maybe Lomax too.
Were as at say somewhere like Huddersfield, Brough stands out as one on his own so may have gathered more top points over the season.

| Daryl Clark? Not for me. Not because I don't think he's a very good player - I do - but as others have said he's failed to deliver when it matters, meanwhile Roby is Mr Consistent (at a level above Clark), and Peacock always steps up in big games and against big opponents. I don't want to sound like I'm knocking Clark - the lad is 21 and can't be expected to be the complete player at such an early age.
I look at the list of previous winners and while Clark may well deserve it in the future, his name doesn't belong in such illustrious company - yet.
Anyone know who the 'expert' panel were? That muppet Sadler anywhere near it?

I'd say Sinfield in 2009 too.
No arguments with Clark winning it. Any of the 4 would've deserved it.

Isn't that the principle of the Goldthorpe medal - and Brough has won it 3 years out of 4?
Personally think Clark was the least deserving of the 4, but there wasn't necessarily a standout either...

That would have secured an award for the Whinos and their whining fans.

| Barring the semi final incident, Widnes have had a fantastic season away from the pitch, the charity work and community work has been outstanding and thats reward for everyone at the club who has busted a gut all season. Did we deserve to win it can be discussed until your blue in the face but I'm proud how we have bounced back from the semi, its also worth noting that the selection of idiots who ran on are not regular attending fans. Ill bet 90% on here don't actually know what the criteria is for the award.

Perhaps there should be a special award for posters who have become a parody of a pub bore ?

| Some people seem to be forgetting that this is voted for by the players, the very best people to judge. Clarke is a wonderful player, who will go up another level behind a wolves pack next season. You couldn't have argued with any of the candidates winning it, but I will say as regards Peacock, wonderful player as he is, I cannot recall a game this season where he has turned it in Leeds favour. I can with Clarke, many times. My next choice would have been Roby, the guys a machine.

I think you may have missed my point.
The esteemed Mr Eve thinks that JP shouldn't have been in with a shout of MoS due to playing for the '7th placed SL club' (which is Leeds, going on the play-off positions)
I was saying that does Clark really have such a bigger case for winning the award when his side finished one place higher in 6th? (again, using William's criteria)

Thanks for explaining what you meant. It was confused by the fact that Leeds were actually the 6th placed SL club.
...the play-offs are different competition, altogether.
