Simple really: Because they don't have a dedicated Hull KR reporter because the Mail doesn't get enough hits on the articles Shaw et all writes.

| [b:1x4x58r4]Another reminder to some of the newer posters that are appearing on this board, that whilst it is open to fans of RL, it is a Hull FC board first and foremost. Anyone who is coming on here simply to continually be a WUM or get a reaction from members/users of this board, will be banned from this board. I'm all for a bit of banter and accept due to the way Hull FC's recent seasons have panned out compared to those across the river we'd get some ribbing on here, however some posts are simply trolling and will not be tolerated.
We want this board to remain an active and enjoyable place for Hull FC and fans of RL in general to interact and will take action to maintain that.
Please take this as a friendly warning.[/b:1x4x58r4] [/color:1x4x58r4]

| Lets be honest a new head coach isn't going to come in and say that the new owners who have committed to pumping substantial amounts of money into the club are going to be failures is he.

|
It baffles me why Hull FC churn out articles every year during pre-season, especially with quotes like that. Just let the action do the talking.[/quote:296kbtuq]
If we just let the action do the talking there’d be no journalism and you’d have only the games to complain about.
Any articles on rugby league are publicity. On that subject, and I think it’s been said elsewhere, our game lack marketable personalities eg the bad boys like we had in the 90s and naughtiest - Barrie Mac, Adrian Morley, further back Andy Gregory etc.Because the game has clamped down on head tackles which I understand and red cards for throwing punches it loses some of its appeal. I think that a retaliatory punch should perhaps be treated with some leniency depending on circumstances.
Aside I still think that quality RL is the best team sport. See state of origin!

Weird
And nobodies ‘outed’ anything, you got beat 64-8 behind closed doors ? Nobody challenged that[/quote:38iotr5s]
Any evidence in this, as the only person saying this is you.
The game probably wasn't 80 minutes, probably no conversions, so you are saying that York scored 16 trys.
You told us Sneyd and Cross was done.
Stick to Twitter, that's your level, arguing with every fan of other clubs.

|
I didnt think they where allowed to register anyone..[/quote:3ozv2sph]
Just seen an article by Aaron Bowers on the Salford situation and he seems to think that they can, but they won’t be able to exceed the 1.2 million sustainably cap until the takeover is completed, any signings like Chan would count towards that.
He seems to think that they have £2 million worth of wages on the books at moment, but this ‘RFL sustainability cap’ means they can only register £1.2 million on the salary cap. A players wage only counts on the cap when they play a competitive game so if the takeover isn’t completed by the cup game on the weekend they’ll either have to sell players or have £800K worth of wages sat in the stand, which won’t be a problem for the cup game they’ll just play a reserve team but will be the same for the first league game if it’s not completed by then.
The sustainability cap seems a daft idea to me and achieves nothing to help anyone if that’s true.

| On the subject of articles/interviews this pre-season, I think that it's pretty obvious that the message FC are trying to project (and doing a good job of doing so IMO) is that of a fresh start. Forget last season (the last few seasons even), forget what you might have heard about what was going on behind the scenes because we're a new regime and we've made changes and will continue to make changes to try and be successful once more. This is being aimed at supporters to encourage pass sales and per match tickets but also a message to the wider game, particularly players and agents. They're marketing the club in the only way that they can until the season actually starts.
It's also got a completely different tone to previous years in that it comes across as grounded and realistic. Any talk of success and ambition is something that we are aiming to build towards rather than immediate promises. This isn't the bullish stuff of being up there competing for honours with a full cap and competitive squad that we've grown used to. It's different.

I agree that sounds daft. What good would having £800k worth of players unregistered do them? They'd still be paying them which won't relieve their financial burdens. Madness if true.
Hopefully the takeover is completed quickly for them.

That’s what I thought, it just potentially devalues the early rounds of the competition but does nothing to change the clubs financial circumstances. Unless I’ve not understood but I’m sure that’s what he’s saying.

Completely agree with the above. As you say RR, the whole off-season media campaign has being about instilling some positive thinking into the fan base (fresh start, new broom, new objectives, etc.). It puts across the idea that everyone connected with the club is rolling their sleeves up and are tackling the numerous problems surrounding the club which need addressing if we are to make any progress. Communicating with the fan base is simply one aspect of the 'new-start' program we hope will bring results.
If Myler/Cartwright/Anybody else said nothing, we would all be up in arms asking (rightly) where is the interaction with supporters. At the other extreme, if Cartwright came out and said it's Old Trafford or bust in 2025 I reckon we would all be saying all he's done is set us up for an almighty fall!
But that clearly isn't the case. All JC has said, ever since he set foot in the place, is that he believes success will return to the club [i:37ml3so9][u:37ml3so9]in time[/u:37ml3so9][/i:37ml3so9], not necessarily immediately, but [u:37ml3so9][i:37ml3so9]in time[/i:37ml3so9][/u:37ml3so9].
He was asked a question in an interview and he answered it honestly and in a straightforward manner. What is he supposed to do exactly in that situation? sit there like a dumb waiter, staring into space, saying nothing!
He is the Hull Fc coach speaking, primarily, to Hull Fc fans as part of his duties as a Hull Fc coach, can't say I can see too much of a problem with this! nor, I suspect, will any other black & white.
Let's face it, he's hardly coming across like Jose Mourinho when he first arrived at Chelsea, is he, shouting the odds through a megaphone from the rooftops!! Seriously cannot see what the problem is here. Still, each to their own, eh!!

I have read and re-read the article and I am understanding it the same way as you. The only takeaway I am getting from it is that the RFL can't force Salford's hand unless they fail to meet their payroll. The sustainability cap just reads like a symbolic gesture. I'm starting to wonder if it can even legally be enforced. What would actually happen if Salford decided to go full strength against Saints in the opening round?

Looking like that's what will happen. If that's the case I'd go Moy, Barron, Hardaker, Rapana, Martin

Looks that way doesn't it, I'm excited to see how he goes.
That left centre spot still looks the weakest in the back line, could be any of Chamberlain/Briscoe/Rapana but none of them really stand out. Be interesting to see how we start at Cas, might give us a bit more of a clue of Cartwright's thoughts.

Sounds like a real possibility. Big raps from Raps this morning in Hull Live. He gets mentioned constantly as somebody who is standing out in training.

Me too, but think Briscoe will be on one wing and out of Barton and Martin for the other wing. Good to have some options and competition.

I found this an interesting read particularly about the ability now for other clubs to approach players contacted for this season after 1st December and the fact that some clubs will hear players are leaving and say "Just go then if you don't want to play for us" I expect that will eventually be the case for at least one young player at our club but only time will tell. There will be a lot of movement in the next couple of months across the game as things become more clear with clubs approaching players with less than a year left on their contracts and it will be interesting to see which clubs retain those players and which ones say well If you don't want to play for us then 'Bugger" off!
