Sorry mate, you misunderstood me. My comment wasn't aimed at your thread at all and I didn't say I wasn't interested.

It was a general observation aimed at the fact that there appears to be far more interest these days in stadiums, ticking boxes, getting into SL, throwing people out of SL etc. than how clubs are performing on the pitch. For example many people are constantly calling for Wakey to be chucked out of SL because of their ground regardless of the fact that their team does not do too badly.

Ah, I do apologise. I'm not calling for Wakey to be chucked, I admitted that in my replies before. I think quality of team and attendances are more important. I actually think the RFL have got the criteria pretty much bang on for SL licences, problem is in the execution of it. I think Widnes got royally done over last time by Salford and Wakey. And i'm not having a do at those clubs now, Salfords ground hadn't been finalised, it was an idea and Widnes got hammered for being in administration and Wakey were skinty poos at the time.

Why does people want salford out, stadium getting built, in one of the biggest cities in the country.

IMO Widnes should defo get in at the expense of Salford.

Presuming Quins and Crusaders are a protected species and no one financially implodes in the next year it will be either:

Cas, Wakey, Salford,or HKR.

HKR are probably the most secure and Salford the least imo.

Unfortunately I have to agree, even if we both get new grounds one of us if not both will miss out. The rfl have stated that there will be at least one championship team included so unless Salford dont get their new ground it looks like one of us two imo.

I'm from Lancs mate, I don't know how much power Leeds council have over the project. I just said this is what I read about it. Do Leeds council have the power to scratch the project? And are they in favour/against it? I want Rugby League teams to have the best facilities around, so I want Wakey to get that cracking looking stadium.

As I have said why would Leeds Met be interested in another Council's green belt, unless the mass complex of industrial units affect local business's from their area, The one over the road is in Oulton they did not complain about the green belt then. Incidentally fwiw the road into the estate at Oulton runs from Leeds Rd to Stanley Rd two main arterial trunk Roads and is often used as a short cut for hgvs' even though it runs through a residetial area no complaints from Leeds met there though.
