June was a generalisation of course. But from the times I have been to st v pies or bulls v Leeds the losing set of fans were, mainly of the opinion that it was only 2 points, not the end of the world.

In the cold light of day, it is only two points, but the a derby defeat bites much harder, IMO.

I can never understand people that say it's only two points or that they'd rather beat someone else than beat Rovers. The amount of grief you get from people everywhere from losing a derby or the amount you can give you when you win, as well as going into the supermarket and seeing black and white or red and white means that the derbies are far more special than a normal two points.

There are families in Hull who are split in their support of either Hull or Rovers. The atmosphere in their houses is not nice at derby time.

That's also very common amongst Cas, Wakefield and Fev fans. Last season was especially bitter, yet despite this it what RL is all about.

Don't forget Oxford make their professional bow this weekend as well.

Saints Vs Wigan easily. Then the Hull derby, then Leeds Vs Bradford.

Traditionally, it's the Wigan v Saints at Wigan, especially due to it's bigger pulling power. They had over 47,000+ in the corresponding match in 1959 ( a world record in RL ) and over 23,000+ are expected this Friday .

Both the Hull derbies and Leeds v Bratfurt are also derbies keenly watched with excellent attendances.

The game needs good matches and attendances at all these matches and everywhere else for that matter.

probably looking at 20+ attendances at both Wigan and Hull this weekend which will be great for the atmosphere and the viewing on Sky for neutrals/new potential fans

Each stand holds about 5k so a thousand down on full capacity i'd imagine!
