Yes but they are the equivalent to SL , all clubs should have them , but not all clubs can afford them , and at the level many clubs are at , they dont need them

Many clubs at Championship level are run by people who already work for the chairmen/owners of the club in their other businesses

And it's no good having a F/T marketing man if you dont give him a budget

newtown and north sydney are clubs with little relevance to RL in australia now

norths havent given up returning to the nrl, newtown are just a feeder club for an nrl team.

heres the point, things need to change. many clubs are going nowhere and dieing a slow death

for example why are leighs crowds so cr*p with a fantastic brand new stadium?

why cant a heartland club like fax also get crowds of 4000.

1. firstly im bullish on RL in general. SL has shown with the right development massive growth can occur. NL1 gets fairly good TV ratings, so that should generate a fair enough TV deal in the future. as SL also grows interst in RL will grow and there will be a trickle down for all parts of the game

2. some clubs should be getting much bigger crowds now. leigh, fax for example. this would help other clubs via larger away fans and give all clubs more money

3. youve said heartland clubs often can find rich backers to support them. clearly thats important.

4. current crowds are pathetic. it shouldnt be hard to tripple them with a little bit of effort. games are now on TV getting the comeptition more attention, which should help

In and amongst those 130 years our highest crowd is 29,153. We used to get 6,000+ in the eighties. We've had our ups, we've had our downs. When reveiwing 130 years you don't just look at the last 6 during a highly unsuccesful spell.

That is shocking to say they play in the biggest RL region in the world where the game is the national sport and there isn't any other compition from Soccer or Rugby Union.

1. people prefer the old ground 2. we cannot be promoted By what happens on the pitch 3. many locals will not watch non top tier RL 4 . a general apathy about the sport 4. last year we were crap 5/6/7/8 many other reasons too complicated to post

So the NSW Cup isn't a thriving comp in it's own right? What do you suggest these clubs do to increase crowds? Don't they have any tv exsposure? They have NRL stars playing sometimes don't they? Maybe they should employ someone to Market that side of things. There is no reason these clubs shouldn't be averaging 5k crowds.

Dally doesn't even know where the Blue Mountains are, let alone a second tier Aussie RL comp.

Championship RL being on tv ' costs ' the clubs money , when Leigh play Widnes in May it will cost Leigh £ 15,000 in lost revenue

If you are not in SL you are meaningless as far as the RFL are concerned , they havent a clue what to do with us , they only want us as somewhere for them to try out expansion clubs

£ 4,000 per match that we are obliged to give away in free tickets

But when we play Widnes on TV the attendance will be down by at least 1,500

What advertising , ground advertising , not our ground , plus although the figures watching are ok , it is still only RL fans from the towns that tune in , the Championship TV deal is worthless , in fact worse than worthless , it costs clubs money

What position does it play in and how many tries does it score?
