It was only 4-0 on the scoreboard, Cats weren't really in control. Two pieces of brilliance put us two scores in front at half time. We pay Austin to be a game breaker, but we win or lose as a team, same as any other side. Defensively, every player did their job, including Austin and Thewlis et al. Austin had a hand in several tries and scored one himself, he was the sponsors MOM Clark was Sky's and Goodwin was mine. Kindly answer the question posed to you earlier, who was your MOM and why?

If Blake Austin goes on to win MOS this year (and he has every chance), I very much doubt you will be on here talking about how he has been the best player in SL this season.

No challenge from me, I didn't see the match but that what came across on the radio that Catalans dominated the first quarter without scoring enough points. The commentary mentioned that Austin was quiet until he made that first break to score the try similarly with Clark to go into half time with a bit of an unexpected points margin.

It does raise the question though if Austin or Clark get injured for a spell do they have enough depth to cover that loss of individual brilliance or creativity. And before some Warrington fans jump on this and raise the same question about Walmsley, Coote, Lomax, Fages etc etc.....................the answer is YES we CAN.

Lineham,Brown,Atkins and Ratchford were all missing from yesterdays team and we coped reasonably well.

You never heard of teams building pressure then striking when the chance arrives? That's what the first half was all about. The radio doesn't give that knowledge but actually being at the game we could all see it. Second half we got on top of their tiring pack and scored enough to win convincingly in my opinion.
Our boys had all been on their jolleys after the cup game and only trained fully from Thursday so a great win to put 6 points between us and the rest.

The rest I'm not going to bother with, as it's hypothetical and had nothing to do with yesterdays game.

Clark got a lot of commentary positives and then Austin in the second half. Johnson also got some wraps about his courageous performance, they suggested he should have a regular spot in the side. I don't recall much mention about the pack being outstanding other than Clark. The commentary mentioned Catalans not completing their sets and giving too many penalties away in the wrong areas of the pitch which allowed Wire to control the game on their terms.

Johnson or Thewlis will have an opportunity for at least the two remaining games of Lineham's ban. Not sure who Price will select for our next matchday squad, but I'd give Johnson the nod as Thewlis was struggling in the last 15 minutes or so with cramp.

Austin's series of "usual poor performances" currently sees him leading the scoring for the Man of Steel award, currently top of the try scoring list whilst also in the top ten for try assists. He's leading the charts for tackle busts and clean breaks and in the top 15 for metres made.

God help us if he manages to string some half decent performances together.
