But the funding would have come from the RFL , running it through the Celtic Crusaders just allowed them to circumvent the NL 2/1 salary cap on their way to SL by paying the majority of their players for doing development work

It could just as easily been done through 1 or 2 genuine NL/Championship clubs in the area

Development officers don't set up amateur clubs , they get RL being played mostly in Schools , setting up and running junior/senior clubs is entirely different , that does require local support over a longer commitment , so yes it is good news that a new club has set up in north Wales , as I asked though , who are they going to play ?

I think you will find that money isn't the normal incentive to play any sport at junior level , apart from perhaps football

an elite level RL club provides juniors with a clear pathway through the ranks and encourages junior development

whats the point of developing juniors if theyve got nowhere to play. many wont want to leave wales.

How very ' Parochial ' , with an attitude like that they wouldn't deserve a SL club , however within a reasonable time period there is more than enough talent in South Wales to put together a truly Welsh Championship side , and hopefully a financially sustainably one

the simple point is the rfl have propped up a failed franchise.
if the rfl are going to spend money in other countries then that money and more could and should have been invested in both a north and south wales clubs at semi pro level allowing them to grow naturally with foundations being layed. thats simple.

The idea that millions of RFL cash was suddenly justified by the fact that one junior team has set up in Wrexham is absurd and invited disagreement. A more sensible discussion would have taken place if dally hadn't adopted a "take that flatcapper!" approach.
