Nobody is disputing this. What is being disputed, is that he was approached whilst still under contract before the TUPE objection was even fronted to him.

| Exactly, there isnt a shred of evidence to suggest that it was a club that approached the player, and not the player that approached a club.

| What have people heard about Batley's Alex Walmsley?
A whisper has implied are that SL clubs are looking at him. Can anyone add anything more substantial?

As far as RFL rules are concerned this makes no difference whatsoever. It's also doubtful that it would make any difference in an employment/contract law dispute. Who makes the first contact is immaterial - it's the conversations that follow that are important.

| Quote ="number 6"shaun mcrea said on local radio that the only players clubs were allowed to approach and talk to were the 17 bradford players out of contract at the end of the season, ALL the clubs(except 1 it seems) agreed not to approach any players under contract until the situation at the bulls was resolved! it could be that hudds did make an approach to kopzack before the takeover was complete as posters on their forum claimed he had agreed a deal with giants a month or so ago......................................
[uthe realistic view is, and mcrae mentioned this was that the players agents who were contracted beyond this season have been offering their players to other SL clubs trying to get them better deals[/u'"
That may have some mileage. Once the Bulls were in admin and for weeks there was no meaningful offer it would be a poor agent who did not have hypothetical conversations with clubs / interested parties in the UK and overseas along the lines of "if the Bulls go bust would you be interested in X?" Or maybe the agents saw their role to sit on their hands for weeks?

| Yeah, if I was a player then I'd have been telling my agent to sort something concrete out for me before it was too late and clubs had sorted their recruitment out.
The Bulls thing has been going on for such a long time now I cant remember what was going on at the start.

As good as Chris Hill, if not better. Stacks of potential.
St Helens are favourites to sign him at the moment.

| Surely for a players contract to be 'tupeed' over (or whatever spelling term) then Bradford's original company would have to have been liquidated first? Or have I misses that one?

Saw a video on youtube of him. He looks like a lad with a lot of impact.
It would be nice for Saints to have a bit more punch and may help make up for us missing out on the aformentioned Chris Hill in the first place.

Because otherwise players contracts will have just been automatically took over as part of the Bulls 'putchase' of the company IIRC.
Only of the company that held the contracts was no more could a player walk away from it?

| TUPE comes into play when a person's employment is effectively transferred to another entity (ie Company to another Company) and their employment rights etc transfer with the change of employer.
Therefore the TUPE would take place when OK came in to buy the trade/assets/business/playing staff (delete as appropriate) of the old Bulls company, from the administrator.
Liquidation will come later.

Indeed. For instance, I think I'm right in saying that the old Wakefield company hasn't been liquidated yet and the players/staff etc were transferred over when Glover bought Wakey.

Manu turned Hull's offer down & signed for Saints.
There back row for next year will be made up of: Gareth Ellis, Danny Tickle, Joe Westerman, Rich Whiting & Ben Galea. Pretty good that.

Why wouldn't we want to resign arguably the best back rower in the league? We offered him a massive wage especially due to his age, but he still wanted to go.
Gutted to see him leave, as he's been our best player over the years but we're replacing him with one of the top 3 back rowers in the world!

| 3seasons ago maybe. I don't want to hear any FC bleating about having players missing next year given you have signed two forwards who have missed most of this year through injury.
