Refereeing is an absolute joke. Inconsistency week in week out. Either they referee to the rules of the game or they don't - seems to depend which team is playing. Jordan James sinbinned yesterday for a professional foul yet Manu and Tomkins get away with a penalty. Yesterday the sinbinning for the Crusaders was correct by the laws of the game, today it just seems a joke - we were robbed!

I have to agree. They even fail to get the easiest of easy decisions correct. If someone makes a break and they're held down it's a professional foul and a yellow everyone knows it.. well apart from the ref yesterday yet only 2 games before Tickle got sent off for it against Wire (I know it didn't decide the game but just another point to help prove that refs are gash).

The refs are about as consistent as Phil Clarkes views on an incident after a Wigan player has commited a similar fould

As a Hull Fc i thought it was shocking that Tomkins never saw red, it was a deliberate kick and should of walked, i also agree that manu should of had 10 minutes for the tackle on COCKayne, however Peter Fox in the same game should of spent 10 minutes in the bin for a professional on Tom Briscoe....refs are too incosistant, moving from part time refs to full time refs has done nothing to the game!

Joel made a stupid mistake, and the 2 points it gifted Leeds cost us the match, he should hopefully learn not to do it again in future.

Also, what Sam does is not against the rules, therefore it's not cheating, it just goes against the spirit.

During the playoffs alone,

Lauaki - Spear tackle (again) - nothing
Manu - high shot - should have been a yellow
Fox - Professional foul?
J Tomkins - kicking - should have been a yellow

& i'm sure there are more, the refs in Superleague don't have the stomach to make the big decissions.

Should have walked IMO and deserved to do so. No place for kicking in our game.

Mcguire accidentely caught Joel on the chin with an elbow whilst he was spinning in the challenge and there is talk that Mcguire bit Joel in the Tackle (I never saw anything that would make me think this did happen).

I do think that it was more a frustrated lash out than a deliberate attempt to hurt Mcguire. Even so if he gets 1 game for this i will have no complaints.

You are trying to defend the indefencible by bringing McGuire into your weak argument. Tomkin deliberately aimed a kick at McGuire whilst he was on the floor, a cowardly act which should have been rewarded with a red card, and he can thank McGuire for not making a meal of it and the ref for not having the b*ll*x to send him off.

The thread is about Joel Tomkins. However distasteful some of Leeds antics were, nothing else that happened in the game alters the fact that he intentionally kicked an opponent.
