I can picture the conversation now.

The RFL wanted licencing.
Crusaders X2, Wakey, Bradford and Salford all go pop at some levels, The RFL use this as an excuse to get rid of licencing. The RFL release a statement saying that the reason for no sponsors is because the RFL have had to micromanage some SL clubs......................Honestly WTF?
So the reason for no SL sponsorship is due to the RFL having to micromanage clubs that included 5 clubs entering admin?

So they were not being rail roaded by the RFL or the 'lower' clubs.

There where in discussions with their peers and walked out.

To me that just sounds like they know they are not going to win and so have taken the next step of stalling in the hope that any change runs out of time.

A bit like the Tory Toff's who would filibuster for hours to stop a bill. Except these guys are not even doing that, they just can't be bothered to talk at all.

Irrelivant who chaired it, if the structure wasnt on the agenda, the clubs could refuse to discuss it

Seems to me its "deal with the big problems, and then we can talk other stuff".

Points to bear in mind-

1. Only 6 walked out, but you dont know how many others are thinking similar thoughts and being careful because of their position.

2. Championship teams are peeved because they were told they were getting free cash, and now it might be pulled because some of the clubs arent happy. In reality, earn your own money make your own strides.

3. The RFL are clutching, they have shown themselves up so much they know that a true backlash could cost them.

4. Hetherington is the only unknown in my eyes, he must see the problems with the RFL, maybe he is trying to make a play for a top job like some have suggested.

I suspect that in a while the unhappy clubs will release a statement and expose some true facts. I think when that happens a hell of a lot more people will side with them after they have heard their side.

So a meeting of SLE chaimen 'only' chaired by the chairman of SLE is irelevant is it.OK if you say so.

The structure was discussed months and months ago and agreed on until lenaghan stuck his oar in minutes before it was to be passed through,why are you defending that shocking behaviour.

No,it was a meeting of chairmen of SLE ltd,not an rfl meeting

But the decision had already been made not to vote on structure until after the WC , so you would not expect to have it brought up at any meeting until December

So what did Mr Barwick and the RFL expect ?

The RFL statement, which was poor and will only add fuel to the fire along with hetheringtons "statement", never actually mentions why the clubs walked out.

They had a choice to vote on whether the money raised from Super League was put under the control of the RFL and taken away from the control of the clubs. If they voted they probably would have lost as the RFL has a deciding vote, if they abstained from the vote and there wasn't a quorum (75% of teams in the league need to vote) then they aren't forced into making the decision without the consultataion they want.

The clubs who abstained have their own reasons to do so, but mainly that the RFL can't secure their own funding and want to use the money from the Sky deal to help fund their own plans.

Why do you think it was the rfl and not one or more of the chairmen of SLE ltd clubs who brought it up?

I would mention that the RFL chairman was in attendance but you will only ignore it again.
