You dont have to be a Wakefield fan to spot the gap in the crowd
And, no they dont

try that!

Wakefield, have got less fans than Huddersfield over the last 25 years.
So why do you feel the need to mock?
They've also got a far better ground than Wakefield and have also been more successful on the field than Wakefield.
As i say, you're a strange bunch you lot!

I'd be mighty interested in the numbers over the last 25 years - I think you have just made that one up
The comments were passed purely because of how empty the ground looked - or should we keep quiet and hope that nobody noticed.
Not helped by the lack of away fans, although in mitigation, it's a long way to come (from Toronto) on a Wednesday evening.

I'd be mighty interested to know what gives a Wakefield specie the authority to have a pop at any team? Ground made from tin and scaffolding poles with a block of port-a-cabins for a corporate area. A p1$$ poor team whos last 'major achievement' was a Division 2 title in 1998...
Don't get hung up on it Poor lad! Wakey fans have nothing to cheer about so have to get their kicks in another way. If the best they can do to in order to feel superior to Huddersfield is to argue they have bigger crowd, then let him have it. It's all they'got

So you're judging Huddersfield's crowds by how many empty seats there are as opposed to how many people are in the ground watching the game?
If Huddersfield played at Wakefield's run down little stadium, would your judgement still be the same?
The relative average crowds between Wakefield and Huddersfield, and relative league positions.

Since Huddersfield were promoted to SL in 2003 they have averaged a higher home crowd than Wakefield in 12 out of 17 seasons and that was including the "Glover years" when it widely thought, even by their own fans that their crowds were being "massaged" somewhat.
In the 17 seasons since Huddersfield won promotion to super league they have also finished higher than Wakefield in 11 of those seasons, reached 2 challenge cup finals and 2 play off semi finals.
Since 1996 Wakefield have accrued 419 points in regular round games, Huddersfield have accrued 498.
Wakefield have won 2 league titles to Huddersfield's 7
Wakefield have won 5 challenge cups, Huddersfield, 6
Wakefield have never won a "double", Huddersfield have done it twice
Wakefield have never won a "treble", Huddersfield have done it twice
Wakefield have never won "all 4 cups", Huddersfield were the second team to do it.
Wakefield have had points deducted twice in the SL era, one for a breach of salary cap, one for going into administration, Huddersfield have never breached the salary cap or gone into administration.
Wakefield's highest SL attendance was 11,00, Huddersfield's is 15,629
So i ask again, how do Wakefield fans have the nerve to mock other clubs and their support, especially Huddersfield?
Are Wakefield fans delusional?

Hang on boss, you said 25 years but, have only given figures for 16.
While Huddersfield were languishing in the old 2nd division, Trinity were in the top flight.
Please add those figures in and come back when you've backed up your boast.
It's a great story and I always enjoy a bit of RL history and well done for posting it.
You do seem a tad touchy over the crowd last night but, you really shouldn't, really.
As for the past trophies etc, I didn't think that was part of the thread but, again, well done for providing the info.
Despite your "superior" trophy collection, your crowds havent exceeded those of Trinity over the past 25 years
Even if they had, it doesn't change the "spectacle" from last night - an awful game and a mickey poor crowd - nice ground though

If we had a sugar daddy, a football team to ponce off and a shiny new stadium laid on then we'd be able to press on as a club. Huddersfield have got everything set up for them to be successful but they still draw low crowds. They've also been relegated from SL which Wakey never have.
Wakey have never merged with another team, financially raped them and then binned them off without so much as a farewell.
Same with all these teams that have had Tesco build them a ground or the council stump up for first class facilities. Easy to look down on other clubs that dont have that and have to battle for every penny we can get.

How you ask?
A) We play in dump, Hudds do not
B) Hudds have won the LLS and made a CC appearance and came close to a GF appearance in the last ten years,we have not.
C) Most importantly, this year Hudds have the cheapest season tickets going.
And yet they barely do better than us crowd wise.

The fact that Wakefield were in the top flight while Huddersfield were floundering around in the lower leagues in front of a few hundred hardy souls rattling around in a crumbling Fartown, just shows how poor the Wakefield club have been over the last half century then and it should be even more reason to have a bit of humility and not keep embarrassing yourself and your fanbase with digs at Huddersfield.
Enjoy your own team, enjoy the sport, enjoy looking forward to a successful time for Wakefield in a brand new stadium instead of trying to points score against other teams' fans.

FFS, it was you that chelped about more numbers "over the last 25 years" but now you seem to be sulking when called out
It was all pretty light hearted until you decided to try and be clever.
As for crumbling Fartown, which was fell victim of having wooden stands. It had more atmosphere than they will ever manage at The John Smiths Stadium, cow bell and all.
As for which club you support, its impossible to tell from just 7 posts, on the face of it you could be a shiny new troll or you could be some kind of pseudo Trinity fan - who knows and who cares.
I guess that you've had you're 15 minutes of fame, congratulations

| Wakey have been in SL for 22 years and yet out of all the established SL clubs they haven't won anything or been to a final. Hudds had a League Leaders Shield and a Wembley appearance. Even HKR got to Wembley.

Never been relegated though, unlike Cas, Hudds or HKR. Just shows what a sugar daddy can do for a club.

That’s not fair. Speed bump Johnstone won most popular winger 2 seasons ago when the wakey board organised a mass vote for it

Hardly, we said we'd improve it and we did. Added the flats and roofs. Not all of us have a cricket club to ponce off and a council to build our ground.

Yet we still support them, now that's dedication.
It's forty years since our last major final, jeez the Loiners are getting stressy after a couple of years.

And Huddersfield fans still support their club, yet get slaughtered by fans of a club who really have nothing to crow about.
Every club has loyal and dedicated fans, even Trinity, yet Wakefield fans want to take a strange superiority stance and choose to lambast another club for something that they have no right in lambasting.
The game and it's supporter base is dwindling, we should all be trying to help push the game and it's clubs not slagging them off for something beyond their control.

You call it "slagging off", I'd call it banter and as nobody really regards Huddersfield as their local rival, they are probably grateful for the interest.
I still dont really see what your problem is here.
Their game, which was as poor as it gets, was played in front of one man and his dog, even the cow and it's bell were nowhere to be seen, or heard - which is a blessing.
It's an open forum and surely people should be allowed to comment, just as long as it's within the AUP and for someone who doesn't like the comments, you sure as hell are keeping on top of this one.
This thread alone now counts for over 90% of your posts on the forum and you call Trinity fans obsessed

Don't tar all Wakefield fans with the same brush, how many have been doing the lambasting, half a dozen? It's hardly a cross-section.

If I had a pound for every post whining on about the state of B.V. from supporters who are blessed with superb facilities I'd be minted. Strangely one club's supporters are in the vanguard on this matter, can you guess who it is yet?
