| This is great for the game. If you're going to expand this is the way to start. The four new teams that go into Champ 1 will have to develop from grass roots, and with support from the RFL and meaningful SL club link ups, have every chance of succeeding. Much rather we build community clubs that can grow at their own pace, than fast-track a team of second rate Aussies.

This is the point some of us have been arguing for, for years, its the only way you can build sustainable long term success.Unfortunately some people on this particular MB thought it better to just invent clubs stick them in sl and hope for the best. The rfl have seen the folly of this policy,i wonder if the posters on here have finally realized it too?.

| This is all ' Come on you Wolves's ' fault , he said theyd mentioned SL in a couple of years , if they did then that'd be completely stupid , and nobody has said anything derogatory about having ambition , all clubs should have it

Celtic Crusaders
We had posters on here with no idea of the state the club was in , both financially and support wise ' creaming ' themselves over their promotion in 2008 , the RFL obviously were just the same to put a totally unprepared club into SL
So yes it has

Yes they did , and thats where they should have stayed , because that was their level in 2008 when they were given a licence , so straight in or 2 years , or 20 years makes no difference if they are clearly not up to it

In 2008, Celtic Crusaders had one of the highest average crowds in NL1. They finished second in the league, and lost the Grand Final in extra time. They had youth development programs that have gone on to produce the likes of Flower, Dudson and Kear who have all signed with SL clubs. They were prime candidates for promotion, and had they not been promoted then the RFL would have been vilified for missing an opportunity because what happened to them would have happened regardless. You're talking complete and utter garbage.

You really have no idea , their attendances were boosted massively with feebies , and even then inflated beyond belief , yes I remember them finishing second , I also remember a whole load of ileagal Visa's , 17 company cars for player , a full time squad , and those players you state were RU players , they would have moved on anyway , Celtic didn't ' bring them through ' anything
It was a disaster waiting to happen , and it happened , well there's a surprise , it did them a world of good , didn't it ?

Can't believe you still peddle this claptrap. Do you walk around with your head in a bucket? If not you should! So inane!
For what it's worth, I'm annoyed with the RFL for missing a trick with expanding RL into Wales by underhandedly forcing super league on a club not ready by allowing them all sorts of dispensations.
And what have they done for crusaders since? Most other inmates have seen this except your good self!

The problem is that Celtic Cruaders' promotions were 'false' promotions - they should only have been allowed to move up a league once they were playing on the same quota and salary cap restrictions on every club in the league, otherwise it doesn't give a true reflection of the actual strength of the club, with as it proved everything else coming out in the wash. Hopefully that's a lesson that will be learned.

How to use innovative marketing techniques, like becoming the first SL club to advertise on national TV?
How to increase ST sales by over 300% in one off-season?

The examples you give haven't got much merit to be honest. If that was the case then you should be one of the top clubs in Super League, but unfortunately you are the worst.
As for the statement regarding 300% sales increase
What have you gone from 2 season tickets sold for 2011, to 8 in 2012?

Well done - facts are such troublesome things aren't they, so probably best not to bother with any when constructing your counter-argument.
Everything I listed about Wakefield Trinity remains 100% accurate.

So what are the figures relating to the 300% increase?
You can produce whatever facts you like, but the fact that remains is that Wakefield are one of, if not the poorest club currently in Super League.

To date we've sold about 3800 season tickets compared with around 900 last year I think?
And yes, no one has any delusions of grandeur here - but still we're making big strides forward, unlike many other teams in the division who are currently stagnated or even receding.

We hear this sort of bravado every year from Wakefield, I'm sure you can forgive people for taking anything that comes from the club with a pinch of salt.
